Noooo
Our list isn't deep!..its difficult already.....our VFL also neeeeds to strengthen, always an indicator of how high can go..season long, drive them hard, many injuries...we are average...not bad tho
A good second in charge coach we already have..Voss more of a front man maybe not tactics genius....he does dramatise a bit..its all rehearsed.....I see why people can have enough of him....I am ok on Voss,he's pretty wise.
What does he actually do though, if he isn’t developing cohesion, motivating, or tactically involved what are we paying him for, what?? How can people protect him, he genuinely does nothing but stand infront of the media and spin the same narrative, seriously someone point out to me what value he’s adding???

The Voss tenure pendulum suggests to me that our first half of the season will be the stinker and then we’ll come home with a wet sail in the second half.

Don’t think it’ll be another Camp Curnow that galvanizes our group. Maybe some other group bonding activity, like Snapchatting with Sayers

Lol....we ain't middle mate. Take it down a few notches and your closer

I think that's over the top.

Last week I'll put down as being exceptional until it is put in to more context of further results

Whilst tonight was disappointing, we came within 3 goals of one of the premiership favourites.

Still puts us in the 5th-8th bracket IMO. Again, this is until tonight's performance is put in to context.

Still think we make finals but wouldn't be surprised if we didn't.

So why does the entire team do the same thing? They're just all dumb in the exact same way.

Even if it wasn't by instruction it's still the coach's fault if he can't stop them doing it if he thinks it is wrong. If he can't do that he's just a spectator like the rest of us.

Would you agree?
Its called being weak to pressure. Laughable to suggest a coach would literally instruct a player to panic kick out of defence. Such an observation is what I'd expect from a grade schooler.

When you're trying to defend and feel like you're about to be tackled, all game plan goes out the window in a player's mind and they think "I have to kick the ball out asap!" Its as simple as that.

1/3 of our list is B-graders and another 1/3 is C-graders. Hawthorn have zero C-graders; everyone in that squad knows they can depend on each other. Meanwhile with us, someone like Cerra might have the ball in defence in a high pressure situation, but after seeing guys like Haynes, Motlop, Fogarty, Docherty, Cottrell, Acres and co fumbling, dropping marks, getting caught unaware, being too slow to react etc, it creates an overarching pressure across the whole team. In the end, even a good player like Cerra can make a dumb kick out of defence under these circumstances.

We have no system. Voss needs to win so badly that now that he can't create a system that can compete. Mitchell developed a system for 18months, yze spent last year doing it but voss just aims for contested wins.

It was horrible to watch our guys try so hard but get beaten by system.

We also need to learn to drop the ball when tackled rather than trying to dispose of it, that also crucified us.

It worries me that we’re “running out of puff” in round 2. We look like we’re playing round 23. Yes, the conditions were poor, but the Hawks skated across the ground. And we recruited for endurance players!

Unfortunately we do not have the system in place to teach the basic fundamentals of the game … precision kicking to advantage, lowering eyes and cleanliness is next to godliness.

That’s on the coaching department.

Players tried but the fumbles, lack of class killed them in the end.

Damning fact is every player from other clubs that go to Hawks improve, most of our recruits don’t.

That’s on the coaches as well.

I’ve had it with Voss and his shit. Imagine what Ross the boss would have done with this list and I hate that prick!

But facts are facts, recruitment and coaching and fitness department have let us down miserably.

Oh and we have no draft currency for next year, oh and what did we do last trade period???? Gave up our depth and bought in what exactly??? Oh that’s right one player who did his knee and didn’t address defence or small forwards but yeah give Owies to WC. ****ing clueless morons.

Going to be a long, ugly year. Bottom 5 finish imo.

We have no reliable method of moving the ball and zero forward structure.

Everything we do is so ****ing hard and sadly bush league levels.

Skills. Footy IQ. Hardness. Fitness. Defending. Coaching IQ.

Way too many passengers and liabilities. Way too many.

Hawthorn won 3 flags not that long ago, bottomed out and have already zoomed past us while we perennially rebuild to go nowhere.

I’ve said for many years the club should partner up with Beyond Blue for all us members.

I don’t want to see Motlop in the team for weeks (if again). His efforts in the first half were embarrassing, he was soft and afraid of contact.

He clearly got a rev up and improved in the second half, but he just isn’t AFL level. And I know our bottom 5-6 aren’t, but if you’re soft AND below AFL you should sit in the 2s

I had neutral supporters messaging me during the game mentioning how good he was now.

I thought he was one of the few real positives from the game.

Had 19 pos 6 tackles and a goal. Kicked 2 goals but for a snick on the post and could have easily had 4.

After last week I was with you but those are pretty unprecedented numbers from a Carlton small forward. He competed really hard.

Only 2 points that are relevant.

1. We have the worst ball movement in the AFL.

2. I we could add Hawthorns ball movement to our play and keep our strengths, we'd be one of the favourites

If the coach and selection committee had done the obvious and dropped Doc, Campo and Haynes after last week, we would have been right in this game. Just gutless not to make such obvious changes.

To go into a game against Hawthorn with Young, Weitering, McGovern and Haynes in the backline is beyond stupidity.
