I put down a pale ale on the weekend.

Closely approximates the Golden Ale recipe on their website but hit it with Cascade, Amarillo and Citra hops to give it an American Pale Ale flavour but at 4.7% so I can drink a couple on a hot day without getting sideways.

Going to do their Mosaic Amber Ale recipe again too as soon as Mosaic hops are available again.

I've got the fixings for a European Lager ready to go as soon as the Pale is finished.

Last Summer I did 4 brews in a row and I had a very good start to the year. If I start now I can get 4 brews in before summer holidays and stock up!

I've been saying it on here for months, people do just not realise the influence around the Geelong business and commerce centre that Paddy's future father in law Bruce Harwood holds and along with Frank Costa's business interests in the area, Patrick will be very well set up for life after football and make no mistake that will have had a lot to do with the ultimate decision. Of course I was howled down when I suggested this months ago by the "feminists" but I can live with that. Happy wife : Happy Life should read Happy Life : Happy Wife and Family.

But in all seriousness how would 2 extra years at the Crows effect this life after football stuff plus it would cost Geelong alot less currency. I know Geelong are desperate for Patty but they could royally screw their future having to give up 2 first rounders and possibly a player why not just wait that extra 2 years and get him for free.

A few of them will be quietly worried that they will be forced to lose a decent player and a couple years of picks and must resort to pulling out the Free Agent card (disregarding the Restricted bit); or they are so sure that the VFL will not allow some minnow non-Victorian club to bully the second oldest Aussie Rules club at the trade table.

I can understand a player leaving us to gain an opportunity at another club such as Mattner , Knights , Maric etc. I wouldn't even blame Grigg , CEY or Kerridge if they left to gain more opportunities this year. But one of biggest leaders on and off the field , who every player looks upto at the club is potentially ditching us. For what? Being closer to his family? Adelaide to Melbourne is around 45 minutes - 1 hour away via plane. After what this club has been through this year , the last thing we need is one of our best players leaving us.
