First rounder and a pick swap gets Aish done. He's a second year mid out of contract.

Hawks got Jon O'Rourke (former pick 2, second year mid out of contract) for their first (19) and a pick swap (40 for 43). Thats the benchmark.

Yes Aish has shown more but our first will likely be somewhat more attractive than pick 19. If need be, tweek the pick swap to favour them more.

Seems like its been so long since we traded in a gun we forget that the power lays with us if said gun is uncontracted. Look at the Hawks to be reminded how its done.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
If we happen to lose Danger, it may be the Cats that will be needing to assist the Lions, if we end up trading with both Clubs.

Yep, can only see us getting Aish if we were into both as Cameron is just too expensive ( in terms of trade) to land. At least with Aish, a first rounder + would get us to the line. With Cameron though...you just have to look at what they got for Tom Boyd, pick 6 + Griffin...ffs Boyd might end up being the messiah but if they can get 6 and Griff for an unproven player, imagine what they will get for Camo?
I tend to sgree

Also not sure why we need to bolster our forward line further, we just drafted in couple young lads who can one day play forward so Im not convinced that JC is our target

with that said I wouldnt say no to a Tex / JC partnetship

Cameron said in 2014 he can't see himself leaving NSW. Discussions between JC's management and the Giants are ongoing. There is nothing to suggest he's leaving GWS, let alone coming to us.
Funny how much BS a redhorse can spin....and for how long.

Soft spot for Brisbane
Polec wasn't a LOST first round pick. They traced 14 for Polec and 22, plus a later pick downgrade. That kept them before us in the draft, after we traded Vince.

So people are suggesting getting rid of a Ruck backup even though we got in a new one to fix the lack of depth in that area? Essentially taking us back to the situation we were in before the inclusion of Lowden?

Thank god none of you lot are in charge of list management!

I wouldn't really call jj a ruck back up, I mean he goes in there but... Cue people posting his goal from a bounce down last year.

We use him as a ruck back up though. So he is classed as an option. Lowden is very like him in spending more time forward than in the ruck too.

It's damned if we do, damned if we don't it appears here. We needed depth in that area. We got it with a player who has some flexibility in playing in a couple of different areas and people are suggesting to get rid of the depth we already have. An area everyone was saying we needed to make sure we got more depth in.

Not to mention we would need to play 23 players.

If Jenkins had to ruck a full game God help us
So wouldn't you play him AND Lowden as an option with both sharing the ruck duties. Oh wait, the suggestion is to get rid of one to bring in a midfielder, therefore we would have to play one as the sole ruckman for a game (which Jacobs doesn't do).

You say he is bad, so what/where is his replacement? That's another trade that will have to be made.

So what will this place be like when everyone gets their hopes up for Cameron and we end up doing something like trading a 2nd rounder for Gorringe?

Looking at the 2015 free agent list and the only big defenders available are rance and grundy. Imo one of these two would bolster our backline significantly. Rance would be a better option in the age department however having grundy in there would add a wealth of experience. Grundy is originally from norwood too.

Not sure I understand your first paragraph
I'm not advocating getting rid of Jenkins, only if it was a choice to help land JC.
Our main problem is we are in big trouble if sauce goes down and that's with or without Jenkins.

We don't need Cameron. Of course you'd get the deal done if he was begging to come here, but he isn't. A mid like Aish, with ties to SA, is the one you'd go for every day of the week. Brisbane are a team that are almost entirely made up by good mids. Time to pry one out of their hands...
