"It's good to have it out of the way - we can now focus on team rather than individuals," said Dangerfield.
"I can now focus on just playing on footy.
"At the start of the year, I was leaning to (an end-of-season negotiation).
"But the speculation, the hype that generates has become a negative on the group.
"To get it out of the way and allow the club to focus on winning games of footy - rather than fielding questions about players' contracts - is about thinking for the club."
Dangerfield, 22, conceded that opportunities at rival clubs - Geelong was the keenest - had "come into calculations".
"That's the case with every player," he said, while downplaying the money factor in the bidding war for his signature.
"But there were plenty of reasons to stay.
"We are going to be a very successful team."
"I've signed for three years - at the end of that, you weigh that up," he said.

Maybe it doesn't bother him much because he really doesn't care. He gets a huge offer too good to refuse he wins, he gets a low offer from Geelong and we match, he wins because he stays with the club he loves ??
I gotta say though, as much as he is playing super well at the moment and seems to love the lads and the fans, ill be mega pissed off of he goes. He has pretty much treated the fans with contempt. He would know how much of a big deal this is to us and he couldn't possibly expect to be seen as a good guy if he leaves.

Does he realise that unlike other sports, the ability to trade is extremely restrictive and professional players aren't genuinely drafted into the sport to be developed as a 17yo. Drafts in other sports are far less of a lottery system then AFL. For FA to work properly the draft age has to be increased to give clubs more certainty of what type of player they are drafting.
What do posters think we can realistically get from Geelong? Their first rounder and Motlop?
And people say it doesn't affect the other players. Off course it does, they'd be sick of it for sure.Danger's quotes from 2012

Thats my beef. Loves the club, but open to setting it back by leaving as a FA.Maybe it doesn't bother him much because he really doesn't care. He gets a huge offer too good to refuse he wins, he gets a low offer from Geelong and we match, he wins because he stays with the club he loves ??

well he is not going this path this time, to be honest that article prob spells the most trouble as he clearly states he wanted to sort it to sure up the group, this time he isn't wanting to go near it. He won't stay based on the way it's playing out this time compared to last time. And people say it doesn't affect the other players. Off course it does, they'd be sick of it for sure.
Rhode and Trigg worked on it, huh?
