ok so we have now opened up a can of worms when it comes to investment properties. now i don't like them nor the tax incentives they bring, they are no more than providing a tool that is pushed by the government through regulations to push the poorer further down and help the middle to top class increase the gap. terrible social setup.
Society is best off if as many people are owner-occupiers as possible. We don't want an Australia in which only a select minority of barons can afford real estate (with many owning half-a-dozen or more) and the majority can't even afford one. That is not the Australia I grew up in.

In relation to Danger, I would presume he's going if those rumours are indeed true that he and Mardi have bought a house in Victoria. Signs don't get any clearer than that.

On that last part he has had a house in Mogg's creek for a number of years. I think he even had bought it before his last contract was signed. It isn't a sign one way or the other.

Why would you possibly think that?

Interesting that multiple studies have shown that left voters tend to be more intelligent than those from the right.

Was a bit of a joke mate, probably stemmed by the fact that the majority of SA state cabinet are pafc supporters and the Premier played for the juniors.

Having said that my local federal member is ALP and a mad Crows fan.....

Was just messing man, I'm studying public policy atm and negative gearing has to go......otherwise I'm never buying a house!
it is interesting, i have benefited greatly from it, i was once a mortgage broker and i used to have one. i am now a senior economist and have a different feeling to it

What is inevitable on this board is that people need a place to interact and vent and be funny. Having that outlet in one thread we, the mods, prefer to give it some head and not be as strict on off topic stuff. Just makes other threads cleaner and easier to manage whilst maintaining a place for ongoing interaction on a topic even when that topic is a little flat.

We're always open minded to better suggestions.

People who use the board less frequently may find this 'frustrating' as they only want to seen meaningful content. But we're not just about content - we're a community and the community needs a place to just be social with each other.

When something happens this thread will be on-topic like every other thread - bank it.

This is just like one of the theories where Danger has signed and club is keeping quiet to draw attention meanwhile working on other players.

Out of interest, do you believe that "the deductibility of costs associating with investing in an income-producing asset" should be abolished on all investments, or just housing?
