Rockstar has put out some pretty good stories too. San Andreas story was a cracker and IV's story I thought was pretty good, even if the game wasn't as good as hyped. GTA V probably had the worst story of the lot, purely because things got too gimmicky with the three character thing, and they clearly had begun to focus more on online.
I found San Andreas was too predictable - could figure out the plot twists before they were going to happen.
I did enjoy IV, but it doesn't really stand up on multiple playthroughs (do enjoy being asked to go bowling though! lol).
Didn't mind V, if they had to focus on just the one character, even if it would have gotten stale by the end... would have loved to have played as Trevor for a full game
. LA Noir's core story was good!
Ok I made my original point look bad, but I just felt for the most part they've lacked a certain punch.
I can't explain why I got sick of RDR's campaign so early on, I just felt it dragged.... and the control mechanics just didn't gel with me. However as I said I could play the multiplayer component without fuss or complaint.
