Some commentator was banging on mid game about how shai Bolton was a star now.

16 possessions.

It's not his total of possessions, it's his creativity and carry - very damaging in the midfield now, and I would love him at the Eagles; would complement us very well.

Intentional, groin, low impact. Should be a week.
Richmond start losing, the cheap shots start coming out. Richmond don’t lose often but it’s been a theme in the losses for years. Riewoldt got a fine for another cheap shot in the last loss.

I wish the AFL media would start calling players soft for this sort of behaviour. Cheap shots are as soft and unsportsmanlike.
We go hard at players who drop the head or don’t body line a ball as they should, but this for me is so much softer.

Yep- exactly this. He’s also so clean in the contest. That ability to pick the ball out & extract without fumbling is really special. It’s what makes Lachie Neale so good in the contest despite his size.

It’s such a shame he didn’t come back. I believe we were really keen on him before he re-signed with the tigers. Would love him at WC.

I wasn’t that keen on him last year because he seemed like a bit of a turnover merchant on the forward flank but he’s great on the inside

does anyone else think it's a joke if we have to hub for the last 5 weeks

we are virtually virus free, have the best stadium and are allowed the biggest crowds..Yet we could end up 'hubbing as much as anyone

the only reason melb teams are hubbing is because the state is a virus cesspool

You know its going to happen. The AFL would rather let Brisbane and Gold Coast stay in queensland all year, give them all of the finals including the Grand Final, than let West Coast have any advantage at all.

If we have to hub again in SA or QLD, it would be only fair that the finals are hosted here. But we all know fairness means diddly squat in this league.

A couple of games in the Territory would be cool since they love their footy. **** QLD though

Queensland is the new Victoria as far as AFL goes and Victorians hate WA. They will not allow us **** all even if it costs the AFL a shit load of money.Even if it makes the AFL grand final (The jewel in the AFLs crown ,the most watched game overseas and in Australia) look like a stale queensland turd in a third world shit bucket the grand final will not be in WA. And the Victorians will call it a great success .Thats the mentality they have.

never a doubt that was going to happen imo if covid permitted.
Eagles will be there hubbing with the rest of them on the same terms under the same conditions with no additional travel so all good.
-sucks that a worlds best spectacle at a worlds best stadium with most likely a full house will be overlooked for a stale old turd in Brisbane though

A free hit to get the AFL growing in Queensland in a way they will never get again. They’re not going to miss it.

QLD hubs are imminent.
Never thought I’d see the day Badge made a cricket reference

More to the point now I think, is that with Qld being the clear frontrunners it could potentially cause a nasty anti-AFL backlash if they went another way.

There's no doubt that WA footy fanbase and Optus Stadium are both preferable to QLD footy fanbase and any QLD stadium(s), but QLD is the right call for the AFL. Assuming that nothing crazy happens in the next few weeks with the Covid situation of course.

Interesting that the story was WA miss out on games because our stadium wasn't up to scratch yet when it comes down to it we lose a Test Match to a ground as old and bad as the Gabba and it looks like it wins the AFL GF too.

I have to admit his year has surprised me a little. He’s not the player I had him pegged out to be, and given we had a multitude of options for his flanker spot I wasn’t too upset us not getting him.

Our midfield is stronger now, but I think we really need a developing young inside/outside midfielder to be ready for when Shuey retires. But I guess we might not have seen that with us even if he had come over; he’s getting his chance with injuries to Cotchin/Prestia & Edwards.

Yeah IIRC before the draft he shot up massively in draft ratings following some dominant all round performances in the WAFL I think, and was linked to our first pick for a while. Him and Fisher are both similar players who could play in/out. Both locals and would be keen on both

The government restrictions make it a lot harder for them to play games here. That's it.

Spare me with the ******* 5Gesque the entire AFL is out to get us bullshit.
I don't know if it's that much harder. In terms of the teams, we've shown that a WA hub with teams playing while in quarantine works. The issue would be with the GF attendees (corporates), but with QLD shut to folks from the two biggest states it's not much different to hard WA border.
