Since the advent of the Top 8, only one side has ever beaten it's grand final opponent in two finals in the same year. That was 2018. And only just (awesome by us!).

There's a reason it doesn't happen much when the re-match occurs. I don't think it will happen this year, either, sadly.

As this season goes on, the Tigers starting to make it harder for us to whinge about travel.

Anytime, anywhere.

Dunno they seem to get their fair share of d*ck riding from the AFL. They’re a good side but will always have the AFL/umpiring to make up the difference should they not be good enough. They’ve had to be away from home but it’s been more than made up for imo. Look at Geelongs fixture compared to Richmond’s and tell me who deserves this years flag more.

Just pisses me off no end that they’ll continually get put up there with the all time great sides but in reality they’re a run of the mill top side. They forever in a day get the little things going their way which makes all the difference at the end of the season. One I can think of off the top of my head is our game against them. They lose that, no top 4, no GF. We have them comfortably covered at Optus and everything lined up for us to play them there (our turn to have the fixture at home, Tiges not having played us or Freo at the time etc).. nope, let’s play it at their home away from home. Just small things.. but they all add up. There’s definitely at least 2 sides id have above them this year. Pretty finished with footy lmao

Unfortunately I think this is on the money.

Port blew it. An incredible number of wasted inside 50s. Boak's "shot" in the 3rd was the worst of the lot. Had flashbacks to Ballantyne in the 2013 Granny.

It some ways this game reminded me of some of our narrow wins against them at AO. They dominate field position but can't put it on the scoreboard. Richmond are gonna win it again and football will be the loser.

Of course it rained.

Hurts Port less than some other sides but certainly suits Richmond by keeping it low scoring.

That's why Richmond have been so successful their game plan stacks up in all conditions....

Complete contrast to our game plan where we need favourable conditions to get our game going.

That’s 5 times since the current format started in 2000 (didn’t ever happen in the previous top 8 format). If Brisbane win tonight I think Richmond roll them next week. :/

Good signs for Brissy making a GF but not good signs for a Brissy flag.

Richmond at the moment remind me of Sydney FC in the A league. A good team but not awesome but winning and no one really ready to step up to challenge them.
