Frustrating that seemingly nobody is going to slip up but just means we have to be good enough to do it ourselves, which is fine if we’re serious.

Harris Andrews injury is gargantuan if we face off. Brisbane one of the few teams that consistently go in taller than us, but Kennedy/Darling/Allen is a tough test.

Your ladder rung is what you are at the moment, but an eye test reveals that the Lions troubles punching in their out front chances is a trend that will sink them in the Finals.

A question for the more knowledgeable..can anyone recall a premiership winner with such a behinds to goals disparity as Brisbane's current number? Thanks in advance.

We Are Essington is such a terrific series that I highly encourage everyone to watch. Does basically a summary of each Essendon game set against a classic song and the theme/lyrics of the song relate to where things went right/wrong. This week's recap is all of their failures to convert set to ABBA's Take a Chance On Me. Very good value to watch them all compiled into short succession, Shiel features prominently.

I'm a big fan of Herbatron's work and others like the Freo Doker, it's good stuff. And sometimes i'm a little bit jealous that we don't have something like that, but unfortunately we're a perennially successful well run club and that's just not that funny.

Sigh, some clubs get #alltheluck.

Liked in spite of you even hinting that Freo Doker is funny. Quite literally the worst “banter” account online.

Truth coming out:

This is apparently what Queensland's "loyalty to the game" looks like. Bent the knee something proper.

Phew. The AFL and Queensland Government can rest easy with Tom Browne’s well reasoned and insightful non-claptrap.

According to the shop owner, stack asked ‘for one of his famous kebabs.’ His eftpos didn’t work. So transferred the money. The two kebabs were ruined in the scuffle. So the tigers pair ordered two more post the fight

He really wanted a kebab haha

**** me. How many rubbish bins did he have to leaf through to get this essential information.

****ing hack.

Egad! I'm shocked, I'm shook! I love that account, the levels of irony and performative strangeness on that page is brilliant. It's absurdist gold.

What was Collingwood's in 2010?

Brisbane are pissing me off a bit. Clogging up the top 4 again and scraping through most games by less than 2 goals (and that’s with every game at home too).

I mean.. we’ve been inconsistent at times this year too but there hasn’t been many moments in our wins where I’ve felt like we weren’t a class above and just needed to click into gear. Richmond and Geelong are similar in that you always feel like they’re the better side in their games, regardless of the margin. The Lions don’t give off that same confidence but here they are likely to make top 2 again. They honestly could have lost 1-2 of their last few games fairly easily.

Per AFL Tables..2010 Pies..335/339..nice call ioppolo..I forgot there was even a 2010 season..LOL

Premiers since 1980 with more behinds than goals:

2010 Collingwood 335/339
1994 West Coast 296/302
1992 West Coast 315/316
1982 Carlton 362/389
1981 Carlton 327/341

Five times in 40 campaigns..I guess it can be done..still I believe Brisbane is a mirage.

Bloody Sumich. I swear he missed more than he kicked.

He’d be up there with Plugger Lockett if he’d converted.

Thanks to a university friend whose family were Essendon fans, I attended my only AFL game in person during a trip to Melbourne. Since I did not have a dog in the hunt in the match, I had a bit of fun with my hosts and cheered on the "newer" side against the Bombers. That is how I became a WC fan. After that match I thought Sumich was the Michael Jordan of footy...LOL.

Everyone excited for tomorrows showcase, standalone game?

Norf v Power LMFAO.
Polec back in against his old side.

Houston back from the Covid party.

Ebert dropped the same week it was revealed Port rigged their B&F to avoid paying Ebert a performance bonus when they were cash strapped & struggling.

Is there still any interest in Stack on this board, or has this episode made people think we should give him a wide berth?
I was a Stack fan , couldnt believe no club drafted him . Will be happy to get him for peanuts later after he has learnt a huge lesson and has some evidence of growing up . Liam Ryan I didnt expect on our list longer than 1 year .Liam is maturing
Sydney is still very young . Who didnt make massive mistakes in their late teens ?

I think We should look at Stack the way we look at Liam Ryan.

Ryan has had his run ins, before being drafted (crown casino) and in his first year at the club (DUI).

Ryan has really come a long way.

He was 21 when we drafted him, older than what Stack is now.

We should back in our culture and the environment we have created.

Stacks coach is Paul Peos, inaugral Eagle. We should enquire and see if he has any interest in returning to WA. We can offer a one year rookie contract, which is what he has at Richmond. Give Tigers a 3rd rounder given he won't play for the early part of next season.

Where did you hear about the B&F thing?

I’d take a punt on Stack if he ever gets let go. Put support around him, pay him low but with clauses to boost the pay and have strong, but understanding standards.

I was worried Ryan would be finished after his Gero incident, thankfully, no issues since then, and has been excellent on the field.

Maybe our recruiters saw Stack as a bad apple. I'm happy to go with their judgement.

I think all 18 clubs saw him as someone who had a lot in his way to be successful.

Stack would be a great addition to the team based on his abilities and qualities on the field.

Question is whether we believe we can provide an environment that will help him succeed.

A forward line of Kennedy, Darling, Oscar, Ryan, Rioli, Stack and Cameron would be delicious.

514 goals and 354 pts, Sumich got a bad rap, he was a better kick than he was/is given credit for. Ablett Snr at 1031 goals and 690 pts had a similar strike rate but no one ever calls him inaccurate.
