Waiting for the ARC Review to become one of the weeks talking points now that a Melbourne team has lost because of "umpires call" and shoddy camera angles.

When it costs a non-Victorian team a top four place however...

Blows me away that we have these 2 pixel by 4 pixel cameras trying to determine things at a frame by frame level.

It’s the MCG. It’s apparently the pinnacle of this sport. You’re telling me we can’t have 4K cameras in the goal posts?

That ARC performance in Ballarat during the community series, fair enough. But the major grounds need truly HD cameras in the posts. It’s a fixed point, how is it hard to train quality cameras in a fixed point?

And he’s doubled down

Freo really got one over Nizzy, getting the AFL to save their boy then not even picking him while they romped home to an eight goal defeat.

That’ll show us.

Seeing as your so attached and attracted to anchors.

Danger and Cameron will be back by then.

In theory, we should always be a chance but we just can't play the ground for some reason. It is narrow like subi was, but we seem to be lost when there.
It’s not just us though, pretty rare for any side to go there and come out with the 4 points.

Ground is also a weird shape and has a slope. Genuinely should be straightened up and levelled so the pockets are the same all the way around the ground.

I've also heard players talking about the grass being different, but I can't remember how and can't be bothered googling so hopefully this prompts someone else's memory.

They had the chance to fix it with the redevelopment and didn't - I suspect because Geelong wanted to keep the true home ground advantage.

It’s not just us though, pretty rare for any side to go there and come out with the 4 points.

At one point in the last few years they’d won 91 of their past 100 there, the best run at a venue in VFL/AFL history. Helps when the “big” Vic teams never get sent there, and they always played the Hawks at the G throughout the Hawthorn era, but it’s an insane feat nonetheless.

The SCG as our kryptonite? Sure. But GMHBA is a graveyard for everyone.

Would be pencilling us in against the Cats at the MCG on current form. Down at the Cattery is an entirely different beast.

That being said.. we won’t get a better chance to win there and at the SCG than this season. Cats looking slow and the Swans are playing an open brand, won’t be the usual slogfest with them locking the ground down.

Are geelong still premiership contenders?

1 correct ump decision away from being 0-3.

Form at this time of year means very little though...they've still banked the points and have Danger and Cameron to come back.

Lots of swings and roundabouts to play out this year

Im happy for the eagles to fly under the radar this year. No fanfare or hooha just bank the wins until September hits.

I am pissed that geelong was able to scratch these wins out. These are the wins that will land them in top four

Yeah it has the same sort of feeling to some of last years games where Brisbane, Geelong and Port all escaped multiple narrow losses while our one slip up cost us top 4.. despite looking very comfortable in most of our other games (obviously post hub).

Shits me to tears when we lose by 7 points playing our guts out and Geelong who have been beaten off the park by a bottom 4 side walk away with 4 points looking absolutely shithouse. I still maintain its us and Richmond as the only real shots at it (maybe Port if they show up on the day just due to their ability to jump their opponent). We’ve just fluffed our lines in the regular season and never given ourselves a real shot.
