Having dealt with many politicians of different persuasions over the years, the key theme I find is that they are largely individuals who are passionate enough about making a difference that they are willing to dedicate their working life to doing that. The hours they put in are extreme, often doing the things that are not seen (advocating for people with Centrelink/NDIS/DVA etc, meeting with members of public over all sorts of issues, attending a myriad of community functions etc.). People see the parliamentary side of things, but this in reality is just a formality and a very small % of the job. Along with losing most of their private life and family time.I couldn't imagine wanting to speak with a politician on any topic for any reason
Have Melbourne got any others on their list?I would have a crack at Will Verrall at Melbourne. Local boy who has spent the last couple of years learning his craft behind Gawn.
When Gawn was out injured last year they promoted Jacob van Rooyen, Tom Fullarton was also given a gig this year so Will is still in the developing stageHave Melbourne got any others on their list?
Gawn looked like he's getting pretty close to the end against us a few weeks back

Wise words.
Personally, I'm happy he is staying. I am not his greatest fan by a long way, but his improvement in the second half of this season is a big part of our success so far. He is no Gawn or Grundy, but he is an honest toiler. His H/O to advantage is the best in the AFL.At least we know ROB will have a big 2028

Three more for Crows Vice-Captain
The 29-year-old has enjoyed one of his best seasonswww.afc.com.au
33 yo atm. He won't be there much longer. Contract until the end of 2027.Have Melbourne got any others on their list?

Hopefully it's been a cunning plan by the club.Interesting hearing him on SEN today, he was quite worried about the crows going after Draper.
Wonder if that’s made him pull his finger out this year.
It won't happen unless there is an injury. ROB is V/c after all.Hopefully it's been a cunning plan by the club.
Feel much better we actually appear to have a capable backup to put pressure on. Would actually like us to try McAndrew before the end of the season.
Would be smart injury management against a lesser team. What if ROB wasn’t available for a final & we need to debut a ruckman. It won't happen unless there is an injury. ROB is V/c after all.
If being a spud means winning a B&F and being regarded amongst the top 10ish rucks in the league, then there aren’t many good rucks going around…ROB is obviously a mediocre player that will be remembered as a bit of a spud
But if the only realistic option to replace him is an even worse player, who we have to pay even more money to, on an even longer contract AND said player has copped a long term injury...
I mean sure ideally he'd get a one year contract. But offering one year is the same as offering zero. He leaves and we're stuck with Draper.
So based on all that it's one of those situations where you just have to accept we're going to get a bit ****ed over
I know a few otherwise intelligent people who get sucked into various online rabbit holes.ROB seems like a smart enough guy, I'm surprised he's a fan of absolute cranks like Jordan Peterson;
Brain surgeon? So you've gota sitting mp... and a hugely successful afl player who's going to be a brain surgeon.... and somehow you think you're better than them?
Polis arent all bad people. They get pulled in 29 different directions and have to understand an awful lot about a great many things.I couldn't imagine wanting to speak with a politician on any topic for any reason
198cm I think his future is more likely KPP that can chop out in ruck.
Next year is the draft to target a young SA ruck
