The Roys Ammos are playing at the old Junction Oval this weekend as the away team.

Should be great! Will bring back some memories watching Fitzroy FC back at the ground once again. Quinlan's 100th goal, our demolition of North by 150 points, even our last game there just to name a couple.

Might have to pop along myself...anyone also heading to the next Historical Society function featuring Robert Walls at the Fitzroy Bowling Club?

Yeah - am wanting to get to both - Robert Walls has a huge spot in his heart for the roys, will almost be like a family send off prior to his departure to France. :thumbsu:

Just been to www.fitzroyfc.com.au and checked out the top memories of the Junction Oval....brilliant!

I suggest you all check it out.

Seconded, the highlights are a great read. Also includes a couple of videos with highlights of Bernie Quinlan kicking 100 goals in both 1983 and 1984.

I looked for my younger self running out in both of the videos :) he he not clear and nor is my memory pretty sure I saw my old flag

Well what a day! Fitzroy were gallant in defeat and I had a lovely chat with Kevin Murray, who, like a true people's champion, stayed to watch the entire game after he spoke at the special luncheon put on to recognise Fitzroy's return to the Junction Oval. I got a couple of photo's with Kevin and RupertKZ is Football, who was lucky enough to wear Kevin's Brownlow medal!

Fantastic to see a good turnout of Fitzroy faithful. I even had a mate who drove from Portland and one from Warrnambool for the game. The fellow who came from Portland was rapt to see the Fitzroy colours running around and even more rapt to have got his original photo of Kevin Murray playing on the Junction Oval signed by the great man himself. The mate from Warrnambool is a Hawthorn supporter and his parting comment was "f#*k the AFL and f#*k Hawthorn, I'm taking out a Fitzroy membership and driving to Melbourne every other week to watch them when they are at home!"

Kevin Murray was so excited to finally meet 3KZ is Football and RupertKZ is Football that he had to sit down!
