Despite Boyd being better than Merrett (according to some kid on work expierence), upset you that Cripps is better than Merrett?
Cripps is a gun. Why would anyone be upset that he is rated above Merrett?

1. Bont
2. Cripps
3. Merrett

That's the top 3 on exposed form. Boyd has enormous upside, but outside of the grand final, he has been pretty underwhelming. The other 3 have been more consistent.

1. Bontempelli
2. Cripps
3. Merrett
4. Lobb
5. Kelly
Daylight
6. Cam McCarthy
7. Ben Brown
8. Matt Crouch
9. Blake Acres
10. Alex Pearce

Honourable mentions: Aliir, Langdon, Aish, Lewis Taylor, Barrass, Fantasia, Sicily, Billings

Luke McDonald at 8, WTF? That has to be a misprint. Has reached 20 disposals in just 3 of his last 26 games of footy! They have him ahead of Billings for instance, who over the same number of games has had 20 or more 14 times, despite playing mostly forward in that time. Would pick Acres ahead of both of them now though.
You do know McDonald is a backman?

Billings is the biggest disappointment from this draft.

Yep Brown seems like a decent player but couldn't imagine there would be much improvement left in him. He's also 3 years older than his draft class
That argument never gets used against Lobb though, he's less than 3 months younger than Brown

Just being a mini troll

Not sure how Tom Boyd got to number 3 TBH. Has massive potential, but too early to call

Billings can't win a contest to save himself.
That he is getting game time at all is a poor reflection on his club.

Never had a proper preseason, 23 year old key forward/ruck coming off a 41 goal season.

Nah, no improvement left in him at all.

Wtf is wrong with people.

Great mark, great kick for goal, smart footballer who is also very decent at ground level as you would know:

A lot more. When you're playing forward you normally have someone playing on you, whereas across HB it's generally pretty easy to rack up the cheapies.

For someone who is playing off HB to be legitimately ranked at no.8 in this list (from such a strong draft), they would have to either be pretty bloody awesome defensively, or be getting a heap of the ball and giving their team a lot of drive and I'm not sure L-Mac fits either description.

Playing down back most of the time (that I'm aware of) hasn't stopped Kolodjasnij from having 20 or more 13 times in his last 26 games (compared to McDonald's 3). He also did it 19 times from 22 games in 2015!

How they have McDonald ahead of him is mystifying and I'd probably take Hunt ahead of him now as well.

McDonald is very good mate, don't always be seduced by stats, they are merely a guide to the true value of a footballer. He was having a great season until he got injured and is fantastic defensively.

I'm with you, as it stands those three are clearly ahead of the pack. You could argue that Merrett is outright number 2.

One huge GF performance from Boyd doesn't make up for a few years of (very) underwhelming performances - though it does show his potential so he could very well leapfrog a few of those players in the next few seasons.

Brown has kicked 91 goals in 2 and a half seasons including a bag of 4 in a final.

Not sure many in the 2013 draft (including Lobb) have hit those heights just yet.

Any realistic North fan would trade Brown for Lobb in a heartbeat.

Reckon the top 15 will end up like this:

1: Bontempelli
2: Cripps
3: Kelly
4: Merrett
5: Acres
6: Lobb
7: Matt Crouch
8: Barrass
9: McCarthy
10: Billings
11: Brown
12: Aliir
13: Pearce
14: Sicily
15: Aish

Overall career-wise. If it were now, I'd have Merrett above Kelly, Barrass lower, Brown higher etc

Gotta say I agree. A gun KPF is worth more than a gun Mid, but on exposed form to date its Merrett by the length of the Flemington.
It's a top ten not a "who do you want at your club".

Settle.

There's more to footy these days, Brown is wonderful ambassador for us being Tasmanian, does a heap of good work for the club through the huddle, never gets into trouble, writes for The Age. I'm not sure it would be that simple from on off field perspective.

On field, Brown has kicked more goals in season 2016 than Lobb has in his entire career.

In fact 20% more.

Lobb is probably looking like being the better long term prospect but on exposed form, Brown has he and many other young forwards in the AFL covered. 41 goals chopping out your ruckman is seriously valuable by any metrics you're using to form your opinion. To say he isn't improving is absurd and shows total lack of awareness of the player in question. His year on year output improvements since his debut are bloody good, more than you could ever hope for from a pick 47.

So yeah I'd say thanks but no thanks for Rory.

Kelly at 7 is a joke. Would have him duking it out for the 3rd spot with Merrett.
