Lets hope we can do a bit of what Noooorrrf did in the AFLW this year coz we are going to need to. From what I've seen we're quite away behind the other established teams.

Don't have to hope. We are very aggressive. The club has every intention of hitting the ground running. Like big Tom Lynch this has been 2 years in the making.

Expansion AFLW club Richmond has made a bold play for Western Bulldogs forward Katie Brennan.
The women’s sign and trade period begins on Monday next week but on Wednesday the four incoming clubs submitted their wish lists to the league.

Foxfooty.com.au can reveal Brennan is a wanted woman at Tigerland and was on Richmond’s list. She is believed to be considering her options.
Richmond’s offer is understood to encompass the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

A dynamic and dangerous forward, sources close to Brennan say her decision is unlikely to be financially motivated. Rather the potential need for a fresh start could help lure her to Punt Road after three years at Whitten Oval.

The 26-year-old, who would be a tier one player at Richmond just as she is at the Dogs, endured injury-riddled 2017 and 2018 seasons capped off by a suspension that robbed her of a flag in the latter year.

She played all seven games in 2019, booting six goals.

Brennan is currently co-captain with Ellie Blackburn and losing her would be a significant blow for the Dogs, which won just two of seven games this season. It would also highlight growing unrest among established AFLW clubs regarding expansion.

Last season several teams were agitated by North Melbourne’s bold list management approach, while the Kangaroos just argued they were doing what was best for their club and were playing within the AFL’s rules.

This year the four expansion clubs will be allowed to sign no more than four players from any Victorian team, GWS or Adelaide. In addition they will not be permitted to sign more than eight women from Brisbane or Fremantle.

The Western Bulldogs best and fairest event is due to be held on Thursday evening and Brennan is expected to attend.

The player movement period is poised to be the most frantic in AFLW’s short history.

Gold Coast, St Kilda, West Coast and Richmond will join the league although it remains to be seen how the AFL will structure the competition following criticism surrounding its conference system.

The AFLW sign and trade period will commence on Monday, April 8 and will conclude on Thursday, April 18.

All clubs can also sign up to three Rookie players. Rookie players are those that have not been listed with any Australian football team for the past three years.
Gee I’d be happy with that , one of best players going around , get it done tigers

Katie Brennan would be such a huge get for us. I want us to also go for players like Paxman, Marinoff and Randall if we can break away the former from Melbourne and the latter two from Adelaide.

Not to burst your bubble but word is Paxman has knocked back St Kilda and Randall has announced she's knocked back West Coast and will stay at Adelaide

This is mostly just another "I hate AFL" whinge by Roy Masters, but it contains this titbit...

The $65m given to AFL clubs Carlton, Richmond, Adelaide and the Brisbane Lions was part of
an $88m grant to football clubs that was not funnelled through Sport Australia and received almost zero publicity following last Tuesday’s budget.

Looks like we scored some $$$ in the federal budget. Of course, that wont happen unless the Libs win, but hopefully we can use it to get the ALP to agree to match it/fork out anyway...
