Stiffy, you use a wink at the end of every post, so I don't know if you really are just having an educated guess or if you actually know something!
Sorry ant. Nothing concrete and I have not heard if he is in the side or not.

I just have heard a couple of little comments that suggest to me he is likely to play against Richmond or at very least he is not far of from getting a game.

I guess we will know at 5:30pm

I would think about recalling Torney against his old side but I doubt BAssett will be dropped if he is fit

Perhaps Schuback and Stevens out for Perrie and Torney in my view.

I agree with these changes and think it would be the best possible side we could have ATM;)

INS: Perrie, Burns, Bock
OUTS: Welsh (adductor), Smart (inj), Schuback

so sayeth the oracle
The hound very lucky. Probably saved by Smart's injury. Welsh no major loss based on current form.

Don't know about that for Welshy, this could have been the game that he turned it around in, considering the Richmond "defence".

And I don't think Frawley will flood like he did at Footy Park last year. He must see this as an opportunity to win, and he knows he won't by flooding like that.

I'm a big fan of Welshy, so would love to see him back to his best. Note I said no major loss "based on crurrent form". ;)

Is anyone listening to 5AA at the moment?

Because at the beggining of the show KG and Cornsey made suggestion that a big name crows player will be dropped this week and that it will be a big surprise.

About 10 minutes later someone rang up and had heard on the grape vine that it involves South Adelaide...

So looks like Nigel Smart may be dropped I guess. Not through injury either  Dont know whether to be suprised or not but this wont be confirmed until 5.30.

And bugger I will miss that!

I got no problems with Smart getting dropped because he has been struggling lately BUT what I have a problem with is that Bassett was NOT dropped. Thats a bloody disgrace:mad:

_F: _ 31. Luke Jericho _ 2. Wayne Carey _ 5. Ronnie Burns
HF: _ 18. Graham Johncock _ 22. Ian Perrie _ 27. Scott Stevens
_C: _ 20. Tyson Stenglein _ 32. Mark Ricciuto _ 24. Brett Burton
HB: _ 3. Kris Massie _ 16. Ken McGregor _ 23. Andrew McLeod
_B: _ 44. Nathan Bock _ 37. Trent Hentschel _ 28. James Begley
1R: _ 4. Matthew Clarke _ 9. Tyson Edwards _ 10. Matthew Bode

INT: _ 13. Ben Hudson _ 11. Michael Doughty _ 8. Nathan Bassett _ 21. James Gallagher

There is no way I would play start Bassett. I have been disappointed with Scott Stevens last week but I would have him in my 18 to stretch Richmonds defence and tall marking options in the forward line might be more of an advantage at Telstra Dome.

Burns for Schuback? What a Joke!! 2 steps forward and 3 steps back!!
I would have kept Schuey in BUT to be fair he was poor last week and really does need a full game under his belt to regain some fitness. He wouldn't have got that with the Crows so its understandable that he is sent back to Glenelg.

I reckon we will win on tommorrow. Schey is yet to play in a winning Crows side.:(

F: Krakouer, Hall, Morrison
FOLL: Ottens, Campbell, Brown
I/C: Hyde, Rodan, Bowden, Marsh
EMG: Hilton, Schulz, Fleming

NEW: Luke Weller

ADELAIDE
B: Begley, Bassett, Edwards
HB: McLeod, Hentschel, Massie
C: Burton, Ricciuto, Gallagher
HF: Johncock, McGregor, Jericho
F: Bock, Carey, Perrie

Schuback has been given a harsh deal. Should at least be an emergency ahead of Shirley. Hell, I'd play Schuback ahead of Bode.

I'm surprised Basset is still in there. I guess if Hart was available it would be easier to drop Bass.

Smart - shouldnt have played on.

We'd better not start as named.

A bit of trivia.

Both Richmond and Adelaide have only scored 100 or more points three times in their last 19 games. All at AAMI for Adelaide, Docklands twice and the MCG once for Richmond.
Just as a comparison, Brisbane 11 times, Port 10 times, West Coast 9 times, Sydney 9 times, Collingwood 8 times, Essendon 8 times, St Kilda 8 times, Fremantle 5 times.

Adelaide have only done so once in their last ten (AAMI), Richmond twice (both at Docklands).

But Adelaide have conceded 100 or more points only 5 times in their last 19 games, whereas Richmond have done so 11 times, hence Adelaide finished higher last season.

Whoever scores 100 or more points will probably win this game.

Are Adelaide capable of doing so? Richmond are if both Richo and Brown play.

NOTE: Why did I use a funny figure like 19 games?
Because before that it was doing it more regularly.
If I could have another one of my Dan26esque moments, :D

There is a Crows player that only played in rounds 1,2,3,4,5,21 and the 2 finals. Total of 8 games.

In those 8 games the Crows scored 100 or more points 4 times.
4/8 games equates to just over 11 times for a full 22 round season.

You all know you missed him, but did you realise just quite how much?

EDIT: I cannot add. :p
Also two of those games you didn't were games where he didn't play the following week.

How the *uck does Bassett continue to get a game? He gets injured during a game (most times when he is getting flogged and become a convenient excuse) and comes off and is in doubt for the next week (earlier this week he was going to miss 2 games). Lo and behold he makes a bigger recovery than Lazurus and is in the side again. Sorry, I can't stand the basta*rd!!!!

Believe me PAfolwr, I am well aware of how much we miss the bloke. If he were fit and firing we would be a MUCH better side and Carey wouldn't be our 3rd forward rather than our #1 forward.

Sadly I think we will never see him back again :(

Back to the game, does anyone else get the feeling that Perrie will be played in defence and McGregor will continue to be played at CHF??????

Are you trying to make me feel ill Stiffy??

If Ayres does that, I will personally lead the "let's get rid of Ayres" campaign!!

No, I doubt it. If anything Perrie may start on the bench & they may start Bock as a KPP ... though hopefully AFC have got the message than Perrie must start at CHF.
