If Richo was 22 again then I'd pick him because he'd end up with 91 goals this season and then I'd play him on a wing for the next 15 years :D:thumbsu:

It'd be a close call though, but Richo is the safe bet for many reasons (longevity taken into consideration).

Hawks fan will say Buddy
Richmond fans will say Richo

In reality they are both freakish players and almost nothing could split them at the moment. In reality if you could pick 1 for your side at the moment you would pick Buddy but only because he in 21 when compared to 33 like his counterpart.

exactly, i mean clearly Franklin is better than Richo. Franklin is going to win the coleman this year, i dunno how you can compare the two. franklin easily.

Richo has the score on the board. His score would have been a lot higher if he played in better sides and if he hadn't had so many injuries....

Franklin at this early stage in his career could be anything......

I'd like to see Lance play on the wing and kick multiple goals, consistently. Richo genuinely comes across as a terrific bloke, both on and off the field. He doesn't posses any of those self absorbed attributes and isn't a spruiker.

Yeah and his score would have been even high if he did not embarrassingly spray so many shots from 10 metres out.

Buddy easily.

Buddy wouldnt have the endurance that Richo has.

wrong.

When was the last time Richo kicked 1.7 dick head. Buddy has kicked 7.11 in the last 2 weeks, Richo has kicked 9.4 - work out which is better

During his career.

Richo is easily the worst kick at goal anywhere from 10-40 metres out any angle.

hey Kirbatron, when buddy runs 18kms in a game from midfield and consistently runs 14 kms as a fwd then you can say he has endurance to match Richo. AND bear in mind richo is now 33, who knows what he could ran when he was 22-25

But clearly buddy is a freak and has the capacity to be one of the all-time greats if he keeps going massive fan here

must be a trick question is it ?

lets see , richo , big sook who abuses his team mates every week and misses set shots when it matters .

buddy , game winner and kicks em from anywere ..

easy too see who i think.

Actually ____ head, Richo kicks the goals that matter and misses the ones that don't. Obviously you are just another ____ing idiot who doesn't watch footy but still bags players. See Richmond v Saints. Who kicked 2 goals for Richmond to give us a 7 point lead and later on to cut their lead to 4 points and turn the momentum. You guessed it - Richo - 5.1 seems pretty accurate to me.

Abuses his team-mates? Once again you don't watch footy. Only done that once in the last 5 years and had very good reason for it. If you actually watched the ____ing game you might have noticed that Richo was one of few players who went up and consoled Riewoldt after his miss, and last time i heard that wasn't abuse.

Buddy may kick them from everywhere, but he also misses from everywhere too. 7.11 in 2 weeks speaks for itself IMO. Not saying Richo is necessarily better, but come back to this thread when Buddy kicks 700 career goals, then they may be mentioned in the same sentence.

Franklin easily. Richo is a favorite among many supporters, because we admire the guy's athletic ability, and the passion he play's with. BUT, lets call it as it is, Richo has been a very selfish non-team oriented forward for a decade+ now, and is a large part of the reason the Tiges have been a success-less mess over his career. Ever wondered why no other KP forward has been able to develop successfully at Tigerland? Richo demands the ball, and starves any other developing KP forward of opportunity. His conversion accuracy is grossly misleading because the majority of his kicks at goal are complete shanks that either don't make the distance or go out of bounds i.e don't even register a behind. By contrast Franklin wins games off his own boot, and big games. :)

So your point is that Richo is a champion, and could have been better if he was a better kick for goal. Yes he does shank a few kicks, yet he still has managed 700+ goals, so what does that say about how good he could have been. By the end of his career he will have kicked more goals than Bartlett, Hudson, Carey and Lynch who are all seen to be champions, so why do people think Richo doesn't fit that category? The fact that he misses a lot shouldn't make a difference, I'm sure most people would prefer 5.5 from their full forward than 3.1. And demanding the ball is a requirement from full forwards, or don't you think that Buddy demands the ball. Buddy may end up being the better player but it is too early to tell.

Richo for me, to have done what he has for so long with a pack of complete monkeys around him is unbelievable. Buddy is headed in the right direction but he also has a team around him that can actually play, would he be as dominant if he was the only one in the team you had to worry about (like Richo has been for the majority of his career)?

Also Richo has no strikes.......

parrot any chance you get to put richmond down you do.....just admit that richo isn't selfish, in fact he's one of the players that always puts his club first...........if it wasn't for richo, we would of have been worse off as he kept us in a lot of games.

you talk about winning games off their own boot........so what about 5 goals vs carlton round 1? richo has on numerous occasions won richmond the game, you obviously dont watch a lot of richmond games......

piss of to your cage parrot your not welcome

There's more to it than that. "Individually" you look at the numbers alone, and on face value you'd say he's a star. But, it terms of your team and it's development over the past 10 years he has been a liability. It's not just his kicking for goal, but his attitude, negative impact on other KP forwards development over a long period of time. He attracts and demands about 90% of the forward 50 delivery, but his use and conversion efficiency is truly shocking and has crippled the Tiges progress for a decade. What the stat sheets don't tell you, is how many shots on goal he completely shanks, and either doesn't make the distance, and causes a costly turnover, or kicks out on the full. :)
