He'll be fine, though I'm sure all Saints supporters will collectively hold their breath for the entire game.

I didnt think he was going to play until september. Usally broken hamstrings take longer to fix

It was a tendon tear, not a hamstring off the bone like that dullard Richardson seems to keep banging on about

And for all the clowns on here (Collingwood, WCE, and Hawthorn), I take note at you all hoping he will reinjure himself and just remember dont be too upset when one of your stars goes down with a serious injury :thumbsu:

Dont get ansty when some cabbage from another club revells in it.

Saint supporters getting offensive when we're picking on the chosen one lol.
Grow a pair you idiots!

Probably more the fact you're hoping that a player injures themself. It's one of the lowest thing that you can do on this site and it should be a cardable offense.

Good luck to him, football always suffers when one of the best players in the league is on the sidelines.

Congrats to St Kilda for getting a thread topic on the main board that doesn't involve the topic of misuse of any players penis :thumbsu:

I lol'ed. :thumbsu:

and to the posters who apparently know everything about Nick's injury, pipe down. The club would not be stupid enough to bring him back if he wasn't absolutely 100% ready. He'll be fine and all you clowns hoping for him to get injured - well I'm on thin ice so I can't say what I really want to but I'm sure you can figure it out for yourself.

Thought we may have waited another week to bring him back against the Pies but as long as he's 100% I'm happy enough to see him back this week.

Will give him a nice workout against an opponent we should beat fairly comfortably and then hopefully he'll be ready to go full bore against the Pies which will be like a final.

Don't think the Gabba surface will be much of an issue, it should be softer than it was at the start of the season and the surface shouldn't affect a hamstring injury anyway.

He has been involved in full training for weeks now and I have to laugh at some of the experts on here especially the ones who say he should play VFL as a lead up...play a champion who is coming back from a hammy on some crap grd somewhere ...how smart.
If the club had waited a few more weeks there would still be the experts on here saying it was still too early, I guess that's why BF is so much fun :)

To the Hawthorn supporters and their tasteful input, I am still trying to work you people out but your feeble attempts at trying to be as obnoxious as Collingwood supporters is laughable at best.

you should learn the word digital

Gotta laugh at the Hawk sooks......shoulda seen them scream like stuck pigs when Duddy goes missing again......and he will.....make not mistake.

OR their shytty little backline leaks like a sieve when it counts......and it will....:thumbsu:

Roo is back. Our season starts now.;)

Bring on the poos/wee's or anyone else...

Have the umpires been given a refresher course on the "Riewoldt rules"? I suppose they were fairly well indoctrinated though, might not be necessary.

this guy is teaching us the rules

Excuse my ignorance but can anyone explain to me why it's an issue to return from a hamstring injury on a hard surface rather than a soft?

I can understand if it's a knee injury but I don't really understand the hamstring/surface hardness connection?

Either do I....also, wouldn't the warmer weather be better for hamstrings?

I chuckled

I really hope Roo can get through this. Love watching him in full flight, one of my favourite non-Hawks.

I'm not sure why the Saints seem to be rushing him back though, they have a top 4 spot sewn up and a likely top 2 spot on top of that, they cant win the flag without him IMO and I would of thought it would be priority number one not to risk him twanging it again...

You've got to trust that the club doctors know what they're doing I guess but it seems risky.

Ok, to the various questions/inferences raised in this thread:

Pie Fans and Penises....you do realise that Beams was doing the girl AND unlike the Saints players he did not meet her in an over 18's Club?

On Richo and Roo.... vastely different injuries.

For all those saying Roo should have come back later....he was actually ready to play 2 games back, but the club decided to be cautious and held him back another 2 extra games.

For the Hawks Fans...sorry fellas but Roo will rip you a new one when we play you. So sorry (not) that he is back now for that.

Unbelievable byt he saints in my opinion.

Flying Nick up north for the game, coming back from a serious injury.

They would have been much better to send him to Sandringham for the week

Yeah because flying in a plane is deadly for perfectly healed hamstrings that have been tested out on the training track extensively over 6 weeks.

Playing in a temperature range of 13 - 24 degrees may be more beneficial than 4 - 14 first up.
