Ok, seriously, what would you want him to say to the media and the public? Should he lay the boots in and say that they were pathetic? Should he start singling out players by name?

As a manager of people you back your team in 100% against the outside world but internally you have the hard discussions. Especially when you have young and inexperienced members.
No he doesent have to lay the boots in at all , he can say he was disappointed in the effort as a whole and say we need to get better

unlike Cornes and Lloyd, Yze is not about to s**t can his players to the media and give them more amo to destroy the tigers though the media. I'm sure that it would be a different story behind closed doors.
Mate there’s nothing wrong with being honest he doesent have to do it in a shot kicking way etc , he can say “ the effort / pressure etc was off and needs to get better , the players know that and we will work on it during the week “
Nothing wrong with that at all

He should say "thats unacceptable, regardless of the lakx of talent, we expect our players to stick tackles and execute fundamentals of the game. we need to collectively be much better than what was displayed tonight"

We need to play three tall forwards but to do that we would need to move Dusty out of the forward line
We've often had back up ruck on the bench playing 50% TOG. I thought Balta on the ground AND Ryan for ruck depth. Drop one of the short people.
Lefau is progressing OK, leave him IN.

It’s not “s**t canning” his players though. I don’t think anyone wants Yze saying “Dusty’s not good enough, Bolton didn’t try” etc. That would be s**t canning them. We’ve already complained enough on here about how Hardwick pretty much did something like that with Cumberland last year.

If he doesn’t want to say to the media that our effort was bad, then he could just not comment on it. He can just focus on our technique or whatever else he was commenting on. If he’s asked about it, he can just say “we’ll review the footage and address our concerns with the players through the week” or some vanilla response like that. He shouldn’t sit there and say that he can’t fault their effort and intent. If he’s honest, then he sounds delusional. If he’s not honest, then who is he trying to fool? The media? Us supporters? Like, we all saw the game. There is no way their effort was flawless lol.

If he wants to get closer to the playing group, then this is not the way. None of them should have an issue with him saying “our overall effort needs to improve”. The one who does needs to be checked.

The Cats have huge advantages that need to be considered
1. Kardinia Park being a weird as hell shape and basically a fortress ensures that they will win about 75% of those games. So they gave 9 games there and they should win 6 or 7 of those. That basically means they need to find at least another 6-7 wins somewhere to make finals.
2. Geelong has a unique offering to potential big recruits. Lifestyle choice is crazy. Want to live in the country with a short commute to training? Geelong is your team. Want a more metropolitan life? Geelong is only a quick drive from Melbourne.
3. Cheap 🧊 at wholesale prices

He can say we need to be better, a lot better and it starts with intensity. That’s not throwing anyone under the bus no idea how we ended up there

Fact is if we take off the glasses, any other team gets done by 100 with even a hint of them accepting the performance and we’d be all over it sh*t canning them. Nobody is saying for Yze to go kamikaze on the players, just a much firmer response to what anyone can see is clearly not up to standard

After last night I've decided to take a couple of emergency measures.

First, I put in the call we all knew needed to be made.

Got Tim Fleming - the man who kinda, sorta, almost sometimes gave us back our dignity the last time we were this s**t - on the blower and he's all set to go for mid-season draft. Gave up the frothies mid call. He's committed to kick-starting our resurrection all over again.

Secondly, we all know Mrs Hardwick was and is irreplaceable, but the club has to do its best to fill the gaping hole.

So I put in another call and training is gonna be different this week...wounds licked and scars properly healed.

Negotiations currently underway to see if she's willing to head up the medical/physio departments in a temporary capacity until we can finally complete contract discussions with Pete Evans.

Bright second half to the year is in the bag. :thumbsu:

He should have gone full Malcolm Blight

Short caught spectating so many times, even early in the game. The vision in the game review would be horrendous (if the coaches are smart enough to show him).

He needs to be peed off. We don't need that imprinting on the youngsters.
It’s one thing to have likes of Campbell spotting up an opponent directly with a pass , but short ,,,,ffs why

Shorty is dining out on his JDM

This is actually really sad ….. the club is in a really bad place and just feels like we’ve gone back to the dark times very quickly
Club or playing list , coz the club resembles nothing like it did in the 80s , we were broke and no one would go near the joint , we’re now one of wealthiest clubs and our people are being handpicked to fill plumb roles elsewhere , we have the credentials to fill those roles with qty like we’ve done before
Don’t be a nuffy just because the replacements we have incoming for 300 g greats that have departed aren’t cutting it then carp how bad the club is ,,,,,just eat your s**t sandwich while we re stock at pointy end of the draft , that’s how this comp works unless you have a state academy

Everyone on the trade table.

Goodbye: Dusty, Prestia, Grimes, Kmac.

Hello to another 30 years of pure s**t
On the positive, we are primary positioned to stop the rort that is PRIORITY PICK. Finish 18th, Let's halt the LolNorth carry on about needing extra draft assistance. Get games into players who will be expected to hold their own by 2026.

On the positive, we should clear out our woeful, disgraceful, inadequate fitness and conditioning team. This season, they have entered a camel into the Melbourne cup. Behead this rotten fish.

Straighten up our shoulders, go to the draft and be a big boy. Stay clear of recruiting half back flankers. Draft a future Captain. Draft for spine players.

Front foot recruit. Meaning, the gaping hole that is key position players is to be filled by recruiting someone who plays that position week in, week out. Recruitment of marginal players such as Kosi are a high odds percentage of a hope. The aim of this recruitment seems have been to highlight the conditioning weakness at the club. Kosi surely wasn't recruited to be a back up to the ghost of JR8?

We shut up, accept and lick our wounds this season. From 2025 we build.
