Agree with that , no way could we sustain that intensity of first half , we didn’t givem an inch. Pls though we stood up when challenged ,,,,room for improvement is making better use of a +25 i50s , too many times we flunked chances in goal sq ,,, Hugo had 3 options streaming forward , picked worst one ,,,,anyways never perfect and in conditions was a good result

Hugo can improve his decision making at times with ball in hand.

Handball to Lynch, nah.

It will come with experience and should be still kept playing.

Got home from the game at midnight with this strange feeling that we hadn’t been totally done over by the umpires. It felt quite unusual - which just goes to show how tough it’s been for us. (We’ve all seen the statistics re free kick differentials……for years). We may have got a slight edge last night, but the Carlton board is hilarious. You’d think the world was ending re umpiring. Imagine if they had got a 33-13 pasting like our Adelaide game, let alone a minus 10 like we’ve had multiple times this year, or the crazy inconsistent 50s?

Can we send over a Valium prescription?

Who for , dusty returns if fit
Clarke for Dusty is most likely.
Soldo for Balta most likely.
Stack for Edwards.
Edwards to medical sub for Rioli.

Hugo RS is just going so might make way also, maybe for Cumberland as he is more suited to the half forward role that RS has played. RS went back last night for a bit but was quickly send back out due to the immense pressure of the last Q. I think Stack would handle that pressure better than RS at the moment.

We use up a lot of energy trying to slingshot with the ball at every opportunity. Our entries are rushed and wayward, over a game we leave a lot of goals on the table. Basically we do to much u rewarded running.

This is where our strong preseason will stand us in good stead. This is the slog period of the season now, have no doubt at seasons end we’ll be running over the ground better than most.

Edit: to be honest we’re running better than most sides even now, only side that is scary with their speed is freo

Regarding Shai Bolton showing the ball before kicking the goal, I kind of liked it. Especially after the heated 3rd qtr time scuffle.

Not too sure why so many people get their knickers in a what about these things. I like how it riled up the Carlton supporters.
Yea I certainly didn’t lose much sleep over it , though you don’t want to put yourself in ginnivin territory , so be mindful of that

Yea it’s not uncommon to go through some tough grinding wins in the middle of the year . Wouldn’t be surprised if we are in the midst of a higher conditioning load .

Well he won’t be dropped on last nights game
I’d have thought he was Cleary in our bottom half a dozen again last night . I recall him doing 1 good thing , albeit very timely . He’s slow in leg speed and mind these days which I didn’t think would ever happen to him TBH .

Grimes is the perfect match up for Cameron
Hawkins will be an issue
I’d be tempted to play Rioli on Cameron once he heads up the ground . Would allow us to keep our structure and have porky going against Miller as well as one of grimes , Vlaustin , Gibcus .

Hit Balta in Q1 with a beautifully weighted pass. Goal.
