Robbie was absolute magic. I miss his magic. He did things I've never seen anyone else do.

I miss him every day.

IMO, was comfortably the best player in the AFL at his absolute peak. Early soft tissues, later ACLs and then cancer towards the end stopped the peak being longer but despite that he was still an absolute gun. Which makes him even more admirable. Was still a threat even when he could barely run anymore.

Matthew Priddis winning the 2014 Brownlow Medal while Robbie was arguably the best midfielder and small forward in the comp is more of a knock on the concept than the current lunacy of giving big contested bulls votes just for turning up.

Warren just pips him at AFL level, but I'd have him second.

All time he unfortunately runs into the problem of a complete lack of team success during his era. How do you rate him ahead of a bunch of club legends who need both hands to count their flags and also had imposing individual resumes?

I think he makes our greatest ever side quite comfortably.

It's hard to separate Tredders, Robbie, Wangas and Roger James as my favourite players in the AFL era. Scotty Hodges is the GOAT for me tho.

Its between him, Wangas, Butters and Tredders of the AFL era. Russell Ebert was the all time greatest.
Butters is not at the level of peak Gray and Tredders, maybe when he matures a bit.

He would have to become seriously consistent with racking up the ball and using it well, because we wont catch them for what they do in the attacking half.

Wangas and Robbie tie as most skillful of the AFL era.
Tredrea the most influential in giving Port a proper target up forward.

It is so hard to compare pre and post AFL, so much is different.

Russ still leads the way as best all around player of all time that I've had the pleasure to watch.
The mark of Tredrea, the kick of Dew, the agility of Gray and the humility of Mother Teresa.
