Prediction Round 1 2022 Team

Not seeing Brockman in many teams, yet he seemed a fixture of the side when fit (perhaps he only played because we had 5-6 others out?).

I reckon we'll want more than just Broooost as a small forward. I could see us trying JO'M, Mitchell, Worpel resting forward but would rather a specialist small forward.

He is a hard one aye. Need to find a way to get him in. Maybe a chance Moore moves to one of the wings and brocky gets a run.

He is a hard one aye. Need to find a way to get him in. Maybe a chance Moore moves to one of the wings and brocky gets a run.

He doesn't hit the scoreboard enough as a permanent small forward, and doesn't get enough of it when around the ground.

He's x-factor, but he's still a fair way off it.

Supposedly didn't turn up to a few presidents lunches and match day events when he wasn't in the seniors, and failed to turn up to a box hill game when he was selected (all prior to the lockdown obviously)

It's all rumour though, so there's obviously more to the story than i know about

I know about the Box Hill game and that was a misunderstanding where he thought he had told the right person he wasn’t right to play.
Not sure of the truth of the other rumors.

Bring on round 1 for this very reason. Plus given the way our list is set up. Our round 23 team could be also vastly different from our round 1 team.

If I was Sam Mitchell, I would want my Round 1 team to be the group of players most likely to deliver a win. A Round 1 win builds team morale and increases membership. Whether or not the group includes new players is unimportant.

I don’t think there’s room in the midfield for both Maginness and Newcombe. I feel like Maginness is still behind in the pecking order and will find it tougher than others to break into the team.

I think we've missed the opportunity for this to occur on account of their being injured & not completed the requisite running. CJ, perhaps - he seems to naturally have the tank - but I can't see Day getting there (mid-season at best)
