Second week in a row that we'll be on Channel 7's main station instead of the 7mate coverage we're used to. Has the AFL cut some kind of deal with CH7 to give us more coverage on their main channel in Queensland? This is going to make a difference in terms of the exposure we receive. Particularly night games that the young families can't really attend. It's also worth noting that the Titans have a BYE next week so this really is another huge opportunity for us to make inroads.

Based on this report below? It says he was only able to walk laps at training today and seems to be struggling with back spasms. It also suggests Chris Burgess could be in line to replace Tex. That would be a massive positive for us going into this game considering they would be missing both Tex and Thilthorpe. Facing undersized key forwards in Fogarty (192cm) and Burgess (193cm) seems like a far less daunting task. Should also mean less i50 crumbing ground balls for their smalls Rankine and Rachelle.

Important game with a view of finals aspirations. A couple of tough games on the road to follow.

Suns exceeded my expectations against Tigers.

• first half was impressive. Tigers struggled to move the ball against our web. Players played their roles, superior in contest, pressure, work rate and not afraid to switch.
• a lot to like about team performance and individual players. Collins was back to his best, Powell blossoming, Rowell is a beast to name a few.
• Tigers got spray at half time and lifted and played for pride. Suns relaxed a bit, but I liked we were able to lift again and eventually control the game in 4th, run out the game well.

IMO, Crows is far more dangerous team on the up. Their trademark is contest, pressure, high octane offence. Hopefully, they will still struggle on the road and Suns should have a better match fitness after Opening round. It will be slippery at night.

A lot of interesting plots.

• Witts vs ROB. Witts does usually well.
• How will midfields go against each other? Dawson, Laird are high quality. Crouch re-invented himself. We will see Rankine there too.
• Who will play on Rankine and Rachelle? Can we limit Rankine's output?
• Will Casboult, King, Luko be too much for young Crows defence?
• Any chance Andrew will play to counter Crows talls? Probably not with Thilthorpe out and Walker possibly too.
• How will Burgess go against us?

We will be challenged by Crows pressure. Will our new plan stand up?
Can we be consistent for most of the game?
Can we stop momentums earlier?
Will more players run through the middle?
What will be the crowd? 16K, 50:50?

A lot to like about this Crows team. Our defence will be tested a hell of a lot more, especially the smalls. Rankine, Rachele and Pedlar could be absolute nightmare fuel if we don't gain midfield dominance. Cautiously optimistic with a game in anger under our kegs compared to Crows coming off the pre season. Let's hope the midfield unit can find that same rhythm it had in the first half against Richmond.

They are historically a tough match up for us. Tex has had his way with Collins for years now and sounds like he will be fit for the weekend despite a back niggle. So heat or not, this will be tough game.

Equally, Adelaide is also an older and a more 'hardened' side, so to say, from then - after all, it's a group that's stayed together and had another preseason, so it should have a fair bit more lasting power.

Should be a cracker of a match if Adelaide are quick to get up to snuff and Gold Coast come out breathing fire.

Burger never played a good game in the 1s so chances are he won't do much if he plays - we should know his game inside out.
