McVee isn't getting dropped as much as I'd love Simpson to take his place. he's played in 9 of our 10 wins and JL is loath to change a winning team. He is a solid mid defender but I thought we were getting a genuine weapon off halfback.

This is where I disagree, we’re winning games but we can still improve. JLo said it himself. McVee has been glaringly our worst player for weeks on end - we have other options and selection integrity suggests he should be chopped.

Looking forward to seeing how Voss goes tagging Andrews, great coaching to give him a role like that.

I’d prefer Treacy on Andrews given how it played out last year. Try something new. I think Treacy would burn him on the lead and nullify him in the air.

Pearce - Omac
McVee - literally anyone, let’s go Walker to do a job on Cameron.

How can anyone say NOD out? 27 disposals, can’t think of any cat 10s (although there must have been at least one). He’s earnt another game.
I don’t reckon Pearce will be be ready, so OMac gets another week. If Young’s ready then he comes in for Scerri.

But we need to be talking about Switta imo. He’s been terrible.

Im not a big Dris fan but thought he proved me wrong, disposal needs work though.

I think he routinely gets beaten 1:1, I think he’s a slow decision maker and I think his skills are below average.

I think it depends on what we’re looking for in that player.

Banfield is the closer 1:1 replacement but hopefully Simpson would be someone to provide more offense from that spot.
Either way, I don’t think he is getting dropped which I find disappointed.

Jeez, distance makes the heart grow fonder and all. Banfield has struggled to hit a kick at Peel this year, he will.not be an upgrade on McVee though I agree McVee was poor again. He has completely lost all confidence in his kicking and even his handballing is going backwards.

when they dont exactly run a super tall forwardline? Who was Ryan on most of the night.

There has to be nuances to how this backline is organising themselves because Id argue our worst two performers are 2 of the 7 down there every night.

Not as good athletically as I hoped.
Skills worse than I thought as well, but hopefully he improves a lot as he works out our system.

Depends, if we’re looking at someone to play on Cameron, Walker would’ve been the best option if he was available. If we want someone to add more dash off half back it’s clearly Cooper.

Yeah I don't understand why Chapman or Ryan wasn't on Wood. We had MacDonald and Cox for their talls? IMO that was matchup we got wrong.
McVee has much more to offer in transition but with Walker not in the side he needs to cut the mustard on lockdown roles and he is good at it. But the Wood matchup was not that..

Well the coaching staff are not using him as a weapon off halfback so that's not his fault. TBH he had this issue at the Demons where he showed his chops running up the ground but the Demons keep giving the ball to wet blanket Salem and Temu Sinclair Bowey.

Ras was better than good, borderline top 10 for us. Sent a sizzler onto Tracey’s chest I think in the 3rd quarter. I guess that’s easy hitting the side of a barn door.

He needs to stop kicking long, prob. missed every target. Not to mention the short ones too..

I dont think you can say its not his fault when a lot of the times he does get it, he fluffs it.

All I'll say is both Worner and Wagner looked as headless as McVee playing off half back for a good season or two before settling.

Hopefully Judd settles into his role too.
