Unlikely if true re injury. However, never underestimate Pendles it’s like he’s super human.

Bicep injuries are restrictive and can be bastards to bounce back from. I hope it's something else.

Pendles' arm is a worry.

Hindsight is 20/20, but taking Checkers the ageing warhorse (he is a good horse, unlike Mauvais Cheval who is a complete a*hole) to Perth 3 weeks after a hammie was a risk. Being decimated by injury forced their hand.

Similar to Murphy - many early on were saying he was slow.

When you're a defender, you aim to break even in the air. When you're a forward, you aim to take marks. Having someone just bring the ball to ground is just adding a 7th defender for the opposition.

We don't need two guys doing the job of one. We'll be better off with an added running player.

We’ve invested in small forwards, it works well and within our strategy. Crumbing goals or locking the ball in the opposition 50. We won a premiership with this strategy.

Granted you’d prefer him to take marks inside 50, we also aren’t paying 1m a year. Value for money I think he does a good job.

Ahh but being a Clydesdale, I have more than adequate calves as you know. your jealousy when confronted by my non embarrassing calves is understandable, if not endearing.

Really a whole lot of probably pointless speculation so far to try and determine ins and outs.

We need to see the injury report this week. Way too much up in the air still.

I do hope we keep our backline alone despite Frampton being needed to chop out in the ruck. He’s been too good down back. We conceded 5 unanswered goals without him down there and lost the game.

And as for Pendles…

Bloody shame about Checkers, shows how important he is to us when he’s out there. I’ve got a self sown cherry tomato plant that popped up alongside my driveway and it’s about 7ft tall. I’m going to send it down this week for selection, it’s about the only thing over 6ft we’ve got left standing atm.
