No head contact was made in the Ballas bump, I'm not worried. The inclusion of SCOC could depend if Richmond play Griffiths (should be dropped). We may not feel the need to bring in another defender, especially with Ibbo back. Understandable if they do bring in SCOC, it'd reward him for his good games this year too. Sheridan did enough to keep his spot, although dropping him and playing Sylvia shows Sheridan that he needs to lift his game to keep his spot, bit of competition might get the best out of him. Keen on seeing Sylvia, hopefully against the tigers.

I reckon something else is going on behind the scenes for Richmond to perform so badly, that as well as lack of confidence, part of the playing list not improving from season 2013 and fitness being an issue (in my opinion) as well. I think it's a combination of things which is effecting Richmond and from a Tiger supporters point of view - it's not nice at all to see them struggle they way they have. Make no mistake, something internally is wrong down at Punt Road, but what is anyone's guess.

A few things spring to mind:
1. D Martin's contract extension/dispute - including interventions by his father in the media. Not helpful, much like with the recent idiocy when Travis Cloke's father "helped" sort out the Cloke contract at Collingwood...
2. Jack being demoted from the leadership group, and choosing not to be a key media face for the Tiges for the first time in many years
3 Jake King fracas and media circus. Jakey dummy spits and undermines with the best of them...
4. Ty Vickery being unable to cope with having to step up in Maric's absence, and instead of knuckling down and working hard Ty has bleated, whinged and cried
5. No support for Cotchin from the older midfields on the list
6. Delidio has been hurt and below par when he has played
7. Delisting Nahas and refusing to play King is stupid.
8. Unwillingness to comit to key taller defenders is undermining the Tiger backline confidence - either back Chaplin, Rance and Pettard, or bring in the younger brigade of Griffiths, Astbury (prior to his injury he was hardly backed) and Batchelor/Darrou.
9. Mark Williams is showing his true form - witness his "encouragement" of Ben Griffith in tonights game - before the game had even started!! Bullies will always shine out as bullies, despite the veneer of knowledge and special experience that they claim and hide behind
10. Combination of a youngish list (at round 1 only 2 players over 30) but also a comparatively inexperienced list (only 3 players with 150 or more games..)

Just thinking horses for courses.....We could probably get away with bringing in a runner for Johnson. McPharlin and Dawson on Vickery and Flat Track Jack, Ibbo plays loose across half back.

But Silvagni in is the obvious like for like-ish.

I love Scos but I know the selection committee will not select him game day - added to extended bench, cut before game. Many a game where a key tall defender was injured and you hear talk of Scos playing but he never ends up playing.

TBH, I called him on here as being in massive trouble earlier in the year.

Massive internal troubles there and he seemed unable to cope with tactical changes when they were needed today.

I doubt that he'll go before Hardwick, but I don't think that he will sleep soundly tonight.

I don't think we need to go with the 3 talls KPD. Silvagni is not a like for like swap with MJ. Sure, they are both tallish, but Silvagni is slow and doesn't provide the rebound that we'll miss with MJ. Not saying Morabito should necessarily play down there, but I think we can go with the setup from the second half against Adelaide.

He might have been concussed by whiplash, I don't see any head high contact. Ballas has nothing to answer for IMO

He could not b) stop and try get around Jaensch because otherwise Jaensch would have beat him to the ball.

There if there was an accidental head clash, it should stay an accident and nothing else because there was no realistic alternative for Ballantyne.

If the Ballantyne incident even gets looked at by the MRP that would be an absolute joke. Was a text book bump which should be praised, not looked at for a suspension.

Agree with most of you here, Johnson out, Sylvia in. It's not like Richmond's forward line is overly potent. Mcpharlin to Reiwoldt, Dawson to Shitory, have Ibboston play Johnson role as the spare man.

It is exactly what you teach kids from the beginning.

Eyes for the ball, perfect technique and make sure he stays down, (not in a malicious sense, just so he can't get up straight away and chase).

If he goes for this, we are continuing the ridiculous trend of departing from the fundamentals of the game.
