I only thought about it after the Bravedogs game - but have we abandoned the Papley in the middle experiment ?
Yep.

Well, maybe not abandoned it. But it's clearly not a priority.

Averaging just 20% CBAs this year, down from 35% last year.

We have a number of others we're giving time in the middle to - Gulden (34%), Adams (28%), McInerney (18%) and Jordon (12%), and combined with seemingly wanting our core trio in there as much as possible (all averaging 60%+), there simply isn't the opportunities for Papley like there was in previous years.

Need Mccartin and fox back

We need Mills too- for defence /mid . Missed him late v dogs and him rotating in the mid would be awesome

Watching the game v giants, it’s clear we hold firm in the first quarter and we cut them up through the midfield from then on. GWS fast smalls giving them a hard time. Against us they will be Too tall, too old, too slow.

Agreed. There is a massive gulf between their midfield and ours right now. Should really have the edge against them

Expect McCartin and Fox to be back for this. Mills 2 weeks later maybe the derby.

Also this is 99.9% sold out. Yet again. Hottest ticket in town.

the hottest ticket in town is my off broadway musical about sam reid

as a treat i will share the opening number

Musical Number: "Sam Reid's Retail Ruckus"

[Opening Scene]
(The stage is set in a bustling shopping mall, with bright lights and busy stores. Retail staff are going about their day, helping customers and organising displays. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat.)

[Verse 1: The Retail Workers]
(Cheerful and lively, with a catchy melody)
In the mall, the lights are shining bright,
We’re here to help, from morning to night.
With a smile on our faces, and a skip in our step,
We welcome you all, it’s our daily prep.

[Chorus: The Retail Workers]
(Joyful and energetic)
But when Sam Reid walks in, oh what a sight,
A footy star with a heart so light.
But soon we see, it’s a different game,
In the world of retail, he brings us shame.

[Verse 2: Sam Reid’s Entrance]
(Dramatic and powerful, with a hint of arrogance)
Here comes Sam Reid, with his swagger and stride,
A footy hero, with his fame worldwide.
He thinks he's the king, in this retail domain,
But to the staff, he’s just a royal pain.

[Chorus: Sam Reid's Behavior]
(Energetic, with a touch of tension)
Oh, Sam Reid, why can't you see,
The folks in the stores are like you and me?
They work so hard, to keep things right,
But you treat them badly, it’s just not right.

[Bridge 1: The Encounters]
(Changing tempo, more dramatic and intense)
In the shoe store, he demands his size,
With a voice that booms, and fiery eyes.
The cashier trembles, tries to comply,
But Sam’s impatience makes her cry.

[Chorus: The Retail Workers’ Lament]
(Reflective and emotional)
Oh, Sam Reid, why can't you see,
The folks in the stores are like you and me?
They work so hard, to keep things right,
But you treat them badly, it’s just not right.

[Verse 3: A Moment of Reflection]
(Softer, introspective melody)
One day, a child with eyes so wide,
Watched Sam Reid, as he cast aside,
A worker's plea for just a moment’s grace,
The child saw sadness on that worker's face.

[Bridge 2: The Child Speaks]
(Slow, poignant, and heartfelt)
“Mr. Reid,” the child’s voice rang clear,
“Why do you make them feel so near to tears?
They help us all, with what we need,
Can’t you show them kindness, Mr. Reid?”

[Chorus: A New Perspective]
(Uplifting, hopeful melody)
Oh, Sam Reid, can’t you see,
The folks in the stores are like you and me?
They work so hard, to keep things right,
A little kindness could change the night.

[Verse 4: Sam Reid’s Change of Heart]
(Building in intensity, with a sense of transformation)
Sam Reid paused, took a look around,
Saw the faces, without a sound.
A spark of empathy, a flicker of light,
Could he change, make things right?

[Final Chorus: A Brighter Future]
(Triumphant and full of hope)
Oh, Sam Reid, now you see,
The folks in the stores are like you and me.
With a smile and a word that’s kind,
The world’s a better place, you’ll find.

[Outro: The Retail Workers and Sam Reid Together]
(Joyful, celebratory, with a sense of unity)
In the mall, the lights are shining bright,
Now Sam Reid steps into the light.
With a smile on his face, and kindness in his heart,
A new beginning, a fresh new start.

(The stage fills with light as Sam Reid and the retail workers share smiles and handshakes, the atmosphere is filled with hope and unity. The curtain falls as the music fades out, leaving the audience with a sense of joy and transformation.)
