All this talk of resting players against a side that was quite damn competitive against a full strength Port side in the Territory earlier in the year, because Freo are basically going to get a free 4 points in their mind, is making me shake my head.

Wait until top 4 is signed and sealed then consider.

What, after we play the last round of 2014? Because that's likely to be when the order of the top 4 is settled.

I agree that Pav was manhandled all day and got zip from the umpires. The delivery was not to his advantage a lot too. There were also plenty of times when he just didn't seem to have it in him to chase and apply pressure.

Yeah can't deny that Reg, only hope it's wise conserving of energy so he's still in good condition come September. Sounds better than calling him a lazy prick (even if he is a bit) so I'll go with that ;)

Throw D.Pearce in a pocket and play Mora on a wing.

I dunno, can you say Danyle in front of goals inspires you with much confidence?

Yeah there's a very good chance our battle with Port at Subi will be a battle for a top 2 spot, no doubt the AFL didn't want a repeat of last year so they fixtured us against a quality side.

Why the need to rest at all? They get an extra week off this year so IMO there is really no need to be resting them. Possibly give Sandi a rest the next time we play Brissie.

Actually yeah. Did you see his shot from the pocket this weekend? I'd be more confident about him than anyone else on our list if Balla has to miss.

A nose full of gauze and a mouth guard in his mouth probably made it harder than normal to suck in the oxygen.

Looking at the amount of time he spent stretching, and on the bench yesterday; one.could conclude that Ballantyne is carrying a bit of discomfort ATM. He us one whom we definitely can't afford to lose at the point end of the season. On that basis alone, rest Ballas. What options have we got for a forward pocket replacement? Crozier?
Ballas is always getting that sort of treatment when he returns to the bench, its been happening for years. I know because I had the same thoughts as you when I first saw it, but after watching it every week....he's fine.

Judging by Lyon's presser, we won't be resting anyone for the trip up there, nor will Sylvia be left out.

Makes it difficult to see where Mora comes in, but it may all just smoke and mirrors.

GWS sounds ideal, "easy" game to ease into and should pull a few more through the gates than otherwise expected. If he's the sub for that game then he gets 6 full games before the finals to get into top gear after that.

What's all this shyte about resting players? WTF for? It's not like we're the weagles and need to rest our poor tired rucks on our run to September...

We play the best team possible every week till we've got Top 4 sewn up. Geebus, you don't want to risk dropping a game against a SHIT team, then have to rely on beating all three of Hawthorn, Geelong and Port on the run home (although you'd hope we could) to get the double chance. I'm sure RTB won't be thinking of resting anyone, just like he said in his presser after yesterday's game.

I believe I did mention that. Do we really need to subject him to it again in Darwin?

He can come in for the player that gets a bullshit week from the MRP.

Whoever that was that lined Fyfe up can thank their lucky stars that he sensed it coming and slid to one side just enough to avoid having his scone caved in.

I can't remember any incident involving one of ours that would be looked at.

Does De Boer have to earn his spot back in the same way Mora has? Let's see him rack up 28 and a couple of goals for a few weeks before he get picked

De Boer shouldn't be back in the team after his WAFL performance on the weekend. Will likely play for Peel again. But then again Ross might see it differently.

Is de Boer best 22 anymore? For me he is in that 20-28 range which is great to have but I cant see him forcing anyone out anytime soon. We still need to get back McPharlin, Johnson and Walters leaving Sylvia, Clancee, de Boer, Mora, Silvagni and Griffin as the depth we need. We will probably have to draw on all of those players to play a role at some stage.

I actually think he might have to. Combination of MDB being subbed a few times now and RTB wanting to give Sylvia a run at it for his obvious skills means I think Matt will not come straight back in. Walters on the other hand is seen as pure silk and will come (almost) straight back maybe one token game or half or peel then in as a sub. Sometime in the next month.

It's not about possessions and goals. Mora would have running KPI's to meet. He's probably got a bunch of others that the medical staff are monitoring. As soon as those are met, you can bet your bottom dollar that he's in. His form has been too good. If we'd lost a couple and Mora had been getting even more possessions and goals, well, he'd probably still be playing at Peel. He can't be far off. Have any of the Peel watchers noticed his two way running? I know that was a big knock on Michie last year. Like Mora it wasn't his performance on gameday per ce that was holding him back, it was his running. 3 years out is a long time, we're just lucky it appears Mora hasn't lost his touch.

Yes. But clearly beatable as Adelaide showed today.
