I would of been curious how Alex Pearce would of been in the back line considering he played the 1st half of the WAFL season with Peel in the defensive posts.

I thought Tabs struggled in the backline in the derby. Then again, Freo are trying to make Tabs a forward.

Cameron was frustrated because he wanted to play and his body was fine but because of the ear thing wasn't allowed to go to perth against WC. As it happened they desperately needed him

I wouldn't bet the house on Alex Pearce not playing (then again, I'm a renter). Not with Silvagni, Ibbo, McPharlin all unavailable, plus Matty Tabs having struggled in back six, when he played out of position v West Coast. GWS is really tall, especially with Patton, Boyd and McCarthy all up forward.

I don't think it is about us being desperate. It is just Lyon having a look at him. If we were playing a serious game surely Bradley would be in if we were desperate. He has been playing back with ok reports and unlike Pearce has half a dozen games under his belt in the wafl.

Being really tall is a significant negative at Subi especially with their outs. Pearce may be on that list just to keep them thinking tall.

I thought he was ordinary and that position clearly didn't suit him. He is a forward and we already have two kpfs for the game.

Tabs isn't a defender. He plays based on his great tank. He got toweled up by a guy who got 3 touches the next week.

Macca out and no Silvangi in? poor kid...Punctured Lungs/Rib injuries can take ages to heal :-( Worst timing for SNOS...been waiting all year and gets injured 2 straight away.

jonno in is great though. We need him...would like to see jonno and Ibbo on in the same game.

I think it's likely Ibbo and Macca are injured...fingers crossed its not really bad. I remember Lyon saying that at this stage of the year you wouldn't want to be missing too much more footy, AFL is a brutal game....this leads me to believe their injuries are significant enough they'd miss regardless of opposition.

I hope Appness, Mora and Sylvia play blinders and we get through the game with no injuries/suspensions!

He did a reasonable job considering he was thrown down there at the last minute with no prep. If he is playing in the back half this week, he's probably had meetings and training sessions with the back line coaches and players and will have a better idea on what do to, where to position himself, a better idea of the rebounding structures etc... I don't think he'll play like a gun defender, but I reckon he might do a bit better this time. Although, I'd again take 0 kicks and marks from his direct opponent and him still look a little shaky down there.
