Re: GAME ON - CATS vs HAWKS

Last year leading up to R17 i was nervous, leading into the GF last year nervous again, slightly less than R17. Then this year was a little nervous and worried about Saints. This week against the Hawks..............nothing

We will give them an absolute hiding, both physically and on the scoreboard.

Cats by 66
Cant agree with this pal, so your basically dismissing the fact that we smashed the most in form team in the comp bar stkilda because geelong apparently is in another league to hawthorn? ( as we keep hearing yet can't seem to perform against us funnily enough). We have you blokes worked out its just a matter of getting the cattle on the park to do the job (unlike round 1 when it was Geelong vs Box Hill).
We have much more to play for and are going to come out all guns blazing from the start, to prove to everyone that not only are we still a legit premiership contender but to prove that we have it over you guys no matter the respective positions on the ladder. We play at the level of the 2nd half last week and you guys will lose.

First quarter on the weekend was pretty good.

We've played a lot of great quarters here and there, but always in patches.

First quarter v Port was described by Harley as the best footy we've played all year. But our last quarter that day was one of the worst.

First quarter v Demons was great but we didn't increase our margin after that.

Would love a four quarter effort for once. No doubt that's what we'd need to beat Hawthorn so let's hope we get it.

People tipping us by 10 goals are kidding themselves.

Firstly, we aren't in the greatest of form
Secondly, Hawthorn are coming into form
Thirdly, as per Collingwood, we have always struggled against this Hawthorn team.

I expect a tight affair, would not at all be surprised if Hawthorn take the points.

Re: What ever happens

well i hope that that one was an accident .

i think he was out cold before the knee touched him to be honest,
if you re look at it he cops an elbow on the way down that did most of the damage Tails just was sliding in at wrong time but if he did that deliberately then he deserved what he got ! but that is the past this is now !

i wonder if your guys will decide to do the niggling stuff like the GF or lay off that like rd 17 it was the first time i had see players not niggle the opposition [proved that hawks did not start that rubbish that we got the blame for all 08 !] your guys and our guys just went out there and played good footy bar for a hawk that had a baby that was due on his mind we did well even though we lost ! :):D

anyway as long as a good game and yes no knee's in heads or elbows at that ! it should be good .

crowd how many you reckon will turn up ? day time match at the g got to be more then 60,000 maybe 70,000 80,000 be awesome if we broke a h&a record can they do 100,000 at home and away or will that be decided if the MMC turn up ? last time they were half empty and they would not allow GA to use those upstair seats ! they should have if you ask me ,
if they don't turn up by first q break sell at a discount rate to those who want a seat !

Yeah right:rolleyes:

That was the only 1 he got caught for.

Re: What ever happens

Love to see an angry physical game to be honest. Best games are when there is that tension or dislike between teams.

Yep, I think there will be a bit of aggro. A little extra spice in a contest is never a bad thing! So long as Moons doesn't throw any elbows around, at any rate.

Re: What ever happens

Yeah, nothing wrong with a little bit of fighting, surely? :p

So are you two guys saying that you're a certainty to get over the Saints in a few weeks?
Hawks should make the finals with 4 wins from the remaining 6 games (although due to our terrible percentage we could miss out if there were a few upsets). So even with losses to the Cats and Saints we would scrape in.

Still leaves us with tough games against Port at AAMI, Adelaide and the Dons (which could be a playoff for 8th in round 22). We'll have to play very well to make it, and one game against our bunnies Collingwood doesn't prove too much.

Re: What ever happens

Yeah right:rolleyes:

That was the only 1 he got caught for.
he is clumsy always has been sadly i don't think it was deliberate and he paid the price of being negligent i have no probs with that cause he should have been more careful and tried to stop his knee going to same spot as his head ! the guy was out cold before he hit the ground it happened not far from where i sat ! no one had a go at simon if i remember right as i think even your guys would know it was an accident if it wasn't there would have been a huge fight . but this is my opinion yours is he delibrately kneed him ! i can not see how you could plan a knee to the head like that when you are both going down one for the ball one out cold

Re: What ever happens

A bit of fighting is okay.

What isn't okay is the filthy knees/elbows that Taylor comes up with every week..
he did not knee anyone or elbow anyone in the pies game that i saw?? i saw buddy and ozzie shove a pie cause of what he did to mcglynn but that was about it but hey i can not see everywhere at once but what i did see was him not doing that

Re: What ever happens

I don't watch the Hawks every week but most times that I do I see him running around trying to hurt someone with zero intent on getting the footy.

It might also be a combination of him having zero talent.

Josh Carr is the only person in the league I despise more.
if he is doing that then he will get done for it if he was doing it all the time deliberately then why have the dumb umps not got him for it ! i know they may miss the odd one but if he is doing it deliberately all the time the he would be out more times then in cause if the ump don't get him the video ump will ? and rightly so , he should go the ball not the man !
[not defending him if he is doing it ]
if he is being undisciplined and going the man not the ball then he deserves the wrath of the tribunal and get a few weeks holiday for it !

he is a clumsy person at the best of times but he played way better last week then he had for the whole year .

He doesn't have a brain. The Wizard of Oz really bent him over..

It's a tragic story.

Re: What ever happens

...and no kneeing guy's heads into the ground until they're unconscious.

Imagine Blakey tried to drop a knee, he'd fall over his own legs like a freshly born fawn trying to find its first legs.

Im suprised his mother aint licking the placenta off him as we speak...
