Just put Johnson and Erasmus into the middle. Simple. There’s enough cover in that position.

Tobyn Murray comes in for a debut, surely.

Draper should be in for McDonald, but guess will be another week.

Darcy will still be in, but gee he ll be in big trouble v Gawn.

In: Murray
Out: Young
Coach won’t do anything drastic other then the forced change

Eh. I remember in ammo days, getting injured in one spot in preseason, then another minor flaring up in another spot as the other heals. It's kind of what happens (other areas overcompensate). I know they are elite sportsmen with all the medicos, but I'm holding out hope for him largely because it's all been minor things. Still not great, fingers crossed.

Makes sense why he was missing in that last half. Can anyone confirm Brayshaw is ok? Because his last quarter was unlike anything i've seen him do before (0 touches or something like youngy). But there were like 8 others with the same stats too.

for me - like for like
IN Banners (do we have any other midfielders?) Ryan
Out Youngy :( OMac

Be carefull asking if we have any other mids, you may very well be reminded we traded or delisted Will Brodie.;)

I think Nod trained as an inside mid in the preseason also, so he should be a possibility. Probably adds something more dynamic to the mix, if he performs well, that is. I haven't seen a replay but he seemed ok in the first half against Geelong. Just seemed to fade out like many. Wasn't really sure why Johnson, Nod or even Raz didn't spend more time as inside mids against Geelong, especially with Brayshaw being more than useless on the day. More Josh Carr like garbage. Leave the same ones there until they get it right and then sit back and watch the game go down the toilet.
As i didn't watch a replay I may be totally inaccurate on some of the above.

Sharp should come in IMO. Move NOD inside OR replace NOD with Banfield.

Sharp can at least cover one side up and down all day and with Windsor and Langdon, they use the sideline.

Brodie didn't get a game with the Power in the first round.

If you think Brodie is our saviour I pray for your soul.
Sorry if I seemed so serious. I was TTP,
Meaning Taking The Piss.
Didn't my wink give that feeling?

Hindsight warrior..

How am I a hindsight warrior? It’s not like I was in favour of the long contracts then flipped my stance. I’ve never liked long contracts because this was always a risk.

Signing Darcy to a 7 year contract in 2023 and Young to a 9 year contract in 2024, after both had already had a history of injury, doesn’t even require hindsight. Just dumb list management.

I think this makes a good point.

Everyone assumes that all this scanning that identifies all these injuries somehow leads to better outcomes.

It's this blind faith that enablement by technology always must be better.

The evidence as far as I understand it is actually more mixed, undoubtedly it provides highly accurate anatomical information, but it can't tell you about function so whether it improves things like re-injury or return to play is actually a much more nuanced debate then telling you where the tear is and what grade it is. Functional assessment still matters.

In some cases as far as I understand it, scanning can actually lead to unnecessary caution especially for things like back injury, but even in soft tissue scanning because elite athletes will often have lots of scar etc on scans that means nothing except they exercise very hard. I believe there is even an acronym for it, VOMIT - a Victim Of Modern Imaging Technology.

Minz I'd value your thoughts?

Wagner, Erasmus, Johnson, NOD. Any of them to replace Young.
Simpson can come in to replace Wagner’s spot. Sharp and Murray for the wing and put NOD inside.

At this point, just rehab Young across half back and he can take Chapman’s spot anyway

Spot on.

Scans are often over-emphasized in musculoskeletal pain (particularly back and shoulders) and can lead people down the wrong path all the time.

However that's typically more in the nature of chronic pain as opposed to acute injuries.

I’ve been thinking more and more we could use Young’s class and skill back at half back too. Play more of Erasmus/Johnson in the guts, in their natural positions.

I know we love Young delivering inside 50, but if we have him driving from half back, it should give our forwards a better chance for a clean entry from whoever ends up putting it in there.

Murphy Reid into the starting centre ball up please. Need the skills.

OMac out for Draper, Worner out for Ryan. Bring in Simpson or Murray.

Beat the Demons by 150. Job done.
