My apologies for the early post but I cannot contain my excitement for this game. Coming off a win, Friday night lights, Neita's 300th. And most of all, the opportunity to stick it right up Brian Taylor and his lovechild Neon Leon. GET READY FOR THE DAVEY AND NEWTON TRAIN BRIAN WOOOOOOOOOO

Collingwood lost to Richmond thank the good lord, which took the pressure off us as I'm sure we didn't want to be Richmond's only scalp this year. Nonetheless, Collingwood will feel the onus is on them to bounce back especially in a game that means a hell of a lot to their season. However, they've tended to field a fairly young team that are starting to fatigue. This was evident against the Tigers. Their midfield looks old, lackluster and disinterested. News is that Thomas will be dropped as will Cloke to take it easy in the VFL. Ben Johnson has also been cited and will have some suspension worries.

For us, for the first time in a looooooooooooooooooooong time we've got a bit of an embarrassment of riches. Brock pulled out late last night, but he should be up for Friday evening. Ward, Johnson and Bate will also be able to come back into the side. However, given last nights impressive peformance, you wouldn't really tinker with a good side like that. It is a massive game for the club on Friday so I suggest we swap McLean and Bode, Bate for the injured Frawley.

The Pies have Pendlebury and Buckley due to come back in, but Malthouse is adamant that Buckley will return through the VFL. I can't imagine Pendlebury having a massive impact on Friday evening either.

Collingwood are currently down on form and enthusiasm. Similar to the Bulldogs one would suggest. By no stretch of the imagination am I tipping Melbourne to be a certainty however we match up on the Pies very well. This taking into account the massive evening that it is for the club as it's our greatest player's milestone game. I am expecting the team to put in a performance of epic proportions as well as the admirable physicality shown last night to honor Neita. I would be bitterly disappointed if they produced anything less.

In: McLean, Bate
Out: Frawley, Bode

NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Will be a tough team to pick, I'd like to see Bode given another go but I can't really see anyone else that would be dropped alongside the injured Frawley.

Perhaps Fergy.

Can't wait for this one. Neita's 300th against our bitches, surely we will win this one.

For structural reasons you'd keep Ferguson in. We lose a backman in Chip, which leaves Carroll to go to Rocca, or perhaps Holland given his good performance on him on the QB. If Cloke does get dropped one can only assume that they'll bring in another tall like Reid, who in such a case, you'd see Ferguson go to

If Cloke plays (Holland back to play on Rocca, Carroll on Cloke)
In: Bate, McLean Ward
Out: Bode, Moloney, Frawley

FB: Bell Holland Ward
HB: Wheatley Carroll Ferguson
C: Johnstone McLean Green
HF: Pickett Robertson Bate
FF: Newton Neitz Davey
Foll: White McDonald Jones
Int: Jamar Brown Sylvia Dunn
Emer: Bode, Moloney, Buckley

If Cloke doesn't play (Holland forward, Carroll on Rocca, Ferguson on Reid etc)
In: Bate, McLean, Bizzel, Ward
Out: Newton, Moloney, Frawley, Bode

FB: Bell Carroll Ward
HB: Wheatley Ferguson Bizzell
C: Johnstone McLean Green
HF: Pickett Robertson Bate
FF: Holland Neitz Davey
Foll: White McDonald Jones
Int: Jamar Brown Sylvia Dunn
Emer: Newton, Moloney, Buckley

It is the general consensus on the Collingwood board that their opting for a lot of inexperience and youth for Friday evening. That said, physicality is the key!

Hopefully Jones, McLean, Sylvia, Moloney, Carroll, Neitz, Holland, Bell, McDonald and ESPECIALLY BYRON will eat those Pies for breakfast. If we hit them harder than we did the Dogs, we should be alright

A historic night for the club, can't wait for this game too, very confident of a win,be great to beat Collingwood twice in a year.

We were last week as well, trust me when we are the underdogs and no one (even Collingwood supporters check the board) thinks we stand a chance that is when we come out, if Cloke is rested (stupidity) it'll really help you guys but ive got a feeling Buckely will get his way and play and if so i would start to get worried with him out there i cant see us serving up the shit we have the past few weeks (hopefully)

I hope they rest Cloke, I cant see why you'd do it but it would really help us they did.

Umm wtf is actually wrong with Malthouse.

We aren't that bad. We will beat you if you under-estimate us.

Anyway, i'd skip my own funeral to be at this match. No way i'm missing it.

NEEEEIIITAAAAA. Hopefully plays a ripper.

Why in the hell would you do that?

Moloney doesn't look 100% and could dominate the VFL for match practice, McLean takes his spot and Dunn and Nathan Brown are more versatile so take the midfield spots on the bench.

As for Newton I'd thought I'd cause some controversy over that one, we can't play Neitz, Robbo, Bate, Newton and Holland up forward, there wouldn't be enough defensive pressure so Newton is left out (love his chases but rather Sylvia, Davey and Pickett playing). I'd rather him in the team but for Neitz 300th we need to play the best available, and Holland is playing great footy and takes a lot of pressure of Neitz. Bate and Robbo go well as mobile forwards and that leaves no room for Juice. He also copped a slight injury last night and I don't think a rest would do him any harm.

How much better is our team with Johnstone running through the middle hitting targets. At times he can get under my skin but how good is his disposal? Holland to treat rocca like the bitch his is. I have my ticket for this week hope the fans show up and give netizs a grand 300th

The talk about resting Cloke doesn't mean they're underestimating Melbourne. They're genuinely worried, it seems, about running Trav into the ground. Personally, I think resting Cloke is the most moronic idea I've heard in ages. I doubt it will happen.

He did nothing against us on QB, along with Rocca.

Play him, we'll beat whoever they put out. :D

Agree - Cloke nothing special. Big bad Benny to stomp the pebble into the dirt.

Hopefully we hit and tackle as well as we did Saturday night - if so, "Jam it Joffa""!!!!

If we play with the same ferocity we did on Saturday night (In Neita's 300th I think we will) we should win, with the Pies tiring with a youthful side and ever since 2004 when we've started beating them every game we have outmuscled them around the ball.

I'd be happy if Cloke and Thomas were out, and they would be idiots to play Buckley in the AFL straight up.

I don't care what you're all doing Friday night, just turn up! I'm working till 6 so won't get to the game until probably a minute or two into the 1st but there's no way I'm missing this game.

Nah let Thomas play, if theres one prick I would want to beat, its Daisy Thomas.

I can just imagine Choppy lining him up now....he'd die on impact.

Fair point, he didn't look right on Friday but I thought it might have just been me.

Perhaps I got caught up in the Newton hype a bit too much. Although it remains to be seen if Bate can get himself right for Friday night. Any news on Cameron ''The" Bruce?

Sorry can't help it. An historic night for your club? Have you really sunk that low that salavging a pathetic win at the wrong end of an abortion of a year against a club with more youngsters than the local creche will be historic? Lets put this in perspective, if you win you will have achieved little more than run interference on an also ran finals team in rebuild. Pleeeease. :p
