My apologies for the early post but I cannot contain my excitement for this game. Coming off a win, Friday night lights, Neita's 300th. And most of all, the opportunity to stick it right up Brian Taylor and his lovechild Neon Leon. GET READY FOR THE DAVEY AND NEWTON TRAIN BRIAN WOOOOOOOOOO
Collingwood lost to Richmond thank the good lord, which took the pressure off us as I'm sure we didn't want to be Richmond's only scalp this year. Nonetheless, Collingwood will feel the onus is on them to bounce back especially in a game that means a hell of a lot to their season. However, they've tended to field a fairly young team that are starting to fatigue. This was evident against the Tigers. Their midfield looks old, lackluster and disinterested. News is that Thomas will be dropped as will Cloke to take it easy in the VFL. Ben Johnson has also been cited and will have some suspension worries.
For us, for the first time in a looooooooooooooooooooong time we've got a bit of an embarrassment of riches. Brock pulled out late last night, but he should be up for Friday evening. Ward, Johnson and Bate will also be able to come back into the side. However, given last nights impressive peformance, you wouldn't really tinker with a good side like that. It is a massive game for the club on Friday so I suggest we swap McLean and Bode, Bate for the injured Frawley.
The Pies have Pendlebury and Buckley due to come back in, but Malthouse is adamant that Buckley will return through the VFL. I can't imagine Pendlebury having a massive impact on Friday evening either.
Collingwood are currently down on form and enthusiasm. Similar to the Bulldogs one would suggest. By no stretch of the imagination am I tipping Melbourne to be a certainty however we match up on the Pies very well. This taking into account the massive evening that it is for the club as it's our greatest player's milestone game. I am expecting the team to put in a performance of epic proportions as well as the admirable physicality shown last night to honor Neita. I would be bitterly disappointed if they produced anything less.
In: McLean, Bate
Out: Frawley, Bode
