We match up with their midfield pretty well. Everywhere else not so much. Need to win the clearances and get it forward. Also need to keep it in our half. Need to hunt the ball carrier like we did during the four-win run.

Would dispute that very strongly. We matched up well in the earlier game because they had so many injuries. They now have Dangerfield back, plus Duncan and Bowes who will switch between midfield and HBF/HFF. None played in the earlier game. Smith and Holmes still there. Tuohy rolls through like Duncan and Bowes. Blicavs has been playing mid when not in ruck. It is an enormous mismatch in size and they will absolutely monster our tiny midfield, it's going to be brutal to watch.

Agree, just hope we don’t see 21 goals in a row again.

Dangerfield has been playing fewer midfield minutes and apparently spending less TOG. I still think we match them for talent in the midfield even though we’re undersized. But yes, if we don’t bring a pressure game it will blow out

Thats Sam Sturts main strength. He doe not need to go full wayne carey and try and get packed marks from 2 or 3 other opponents. If there is open space, make the lead.

Jackson kicked some good set shot goals in tight angles too.

Amiss has scored a fair bit of set shot goals from 30-40 metres out. He has scored some goals on instinct too.
Just watched the last half of the game again. Was a nice quick kick in from Wagner and Sturt time his lead perfectly then dobbed it from about 53 when he put it on the boot. He also did some nice linking up through the middle and that kick in to Shultz was a thing of beauty. Shultz didn't have to move a muscle the ball just landed straight in his arms.

Hopefully Sam is getting the hang of the tempo and his confidence is rising. I still believe he's a genuine talent.

Blicavs alone dominates Jackson, throws around Henry, or even towels up Amiss. Monster

More scared/worried about Geelong in Geelong then Collingwood at MCG. Such a scary team. V Essendon just made it boys v men.

I’d seriously look at swapping Corbett for Reidy.

Tell him to go as hard as he can for half.
Best case, we sub him off in the third and bring on run to close out the game.
Worst case, he has to stand at FF because he’s gassed for the last half.

But allows the REAL JJJ to run amok for a half in the forward line.
I wouldn't wanna bring Reidy in I watched a game of Peel thunder a few weeks ago and he gave away a LOT of ruck contest free kicks. The last thing we need when we are losing the contest/clearances at the moment.

They put a nice hightlight package for whipping boy Hughes in his 100 games.

Lots of highlights showing him go hard at the ball or kicking goals..

Did Hughes ever play forward.. He seems have reasonable kick for goal and takes good mark. Also maybe should of tried him as big bodied mid crashing in there

Those crunching contests always come to mind when I think of him.

Hit the nail on the head , hope all the Sturt haters saw that kick, have seen plenty of him at Peel and he he has the raw talent we need to keep perserving with him to get his confidence up
Needs to still build his body strength and tank but is a keeper

Sometimes when players deliberately kick it low or along the ground people assume they are a crap kick
Actually don’t understand why teams, particularly Fremantle, don’t just do it often.
Long balls with our forward line isn’t going to work. Drill it along the ground or low, gives every chance for small forwards.

Reading kicking efficiency stats is better in the end I guess.
