Zac is in for a torrid day then. He can't go with Cameron with the ball on the ground I think

Team defence you make sure Cameron does not have a paddock of space to work in. If he can kick his goals in phonebox then he will have earnt them. Likely we could see a plus one in defence keeping in front of him and Dawson goal side - just like Pav has had for years.

I'm just looking forward to seeing Cameron play, pretty rare to have that combination of being an excellent contested mark (Zac will compete with him well in the air) and playing aggressively well with the ball loose on the deck. I guess Ross will be ruthless and put 3 defenders on him but it will be a big test for Zac if he is left one on one against him

Last year we beat the Giants by 95 points but kicked 2.13 in the second quarter - our most innacurate quarter ever.

This year the giants are a better team with a year of AFL under their belts. Dockers are marginally better maybe than in Rd 17 last year although we will miss Luke McPharlin. That said we should not be as innacurate again. If we can get a margin of 80 points it will keep alive our hopes of a top two finish so I want the boys to go all out for four quarters.

Interesting that RTB has stated round 23 before Elvis returns to the team .
Also Mzungu carrying a corked thigh ,Mundy ankle and Clancee injured as well .
So with Ibbo a maybe there could be up to 4 changes this week Yes I know Ibbo was a late with draw last week as was Duff Man .
So I think at home on Sunday the training crew will be able to give us a better idea on ins and outs come Fridays training session

My tips for tonights changes: (squad of 25)

IN - Pav, Ibbo, Crozier, Michie
OUT - Clancee (inj)

I would be surprised if Mundy makes the finals 22, but I guess he could be a late withdrawal.

IN - Pav, Ibbo, Crozier, Michie, Silvagni
OUT - Clancee (inj), Mundy (Inj)

I think we should consider Silvagni, if only for team balance as Cameron and Patton and dangerous talls and it would be great having Johnson being the third man up against those two guys.

Tore his ACL mate, hes out for the year.
I think they will pretty much go with the one big. Can see them leaving Brogan in Sydney and justy bring the one recognised ruckman as well.

You do know that Patton is in the middle of recovery from a knee reco, don't you?

Arrg! Read the thread! Even though you should already know, it is mentioned again not a page ago that Patton is out (and since early in the season) with a knee.

Thanks guys, I did know that. Obviously wasn't thinking.

If Brogan does play, who will Johnson take him in the back line?

Who will help Dawson vs Cameron?

In the finals Johnson will play third tall, with McPharlin and Dawson taking the main two forwards. I still believe Silvagni should be considered, to allow johnson to play loose, help Dawson against Cameron and get match practice as the third tall.

I wouldn't be surprised if half the GWS talented young team stays where they are this weekend.

It's a long way to fly to get beaten.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit either.

I disagree. GWS have built some momentum over the past month and have come off their first win of the Season. I reckon Sheedy will be building them up for a "finals like game".

I bet Ross won't be taking this one easily, as every win and percentage point is still critical for us ...

This is certainly one we cannot afford top drop. The Freo of old had a habit of dropping games it was supposedly certain to win. We have not done this in a while, but we certainly can't go in taking them lightly - Richmond exposed us for pace a bit a couple of weeks ago.

I'm expecting us to name a full strength team and for any rested players to be last minute withdrawals.

Better to do it that way than give Sheedy days of ammo about how we're disrespecting them that he'll use to try pump up his troops.

edit - dammit too slow

Unfortunate for my buddy, I think those bottom 3 won't make the cut tomorrow unless there are late changes.

Rest of the squad looks really strong on paper and good coverage.

Sorry but what about Michie? Has been training and playing hugely better then Crichton, who is almost certain to be delisted. Pretty stiff for the bloke. Hopefully will play next week againstMelbourne at MCG (as he is victorian) otherwise Michie is gone.
Hope we stick to a strong 22 and not include Crichton.. Don't care who it is, but just not AFL standard and undeserving ahead of Michie.
