Crichton, what a load of shit.

Reckon Viv's gone. He's consistently been our best player in the WAFL but can't get a look in. Back to Melbourne for him.

Yeah Crichton over Viv makes no sense, it's just a waste getting games into Jesse when he's surely headed for the scrapheap.

Even if they're trying to teach Viv to be more of a two way runner surely it would be beneficial to give him a few games in the seniors to show him what's required and to give him some first hand experience of how hard all his teammates run defensively.

Putting on my optimists hat though, if they knew Viv was leaving surely they'd give him some games to pump up his trade value a bit, a la the Sheridan conspiracy theory.

Definite waste. Players in the same draft class has put on size and improved whereas he has gone nowhere. Nothing to gain from playing this season at AFL level, even if it is against GWS.

Look I know the club knows more than I do about Michie - fitness base, holding him to next year, already asking to leave - I have no idea, still it's disappointing not to see him get another game. Will never get why they've selected Crichton, even as an emergency. Really hopes he gets some games soon and he stays on.

Wouldn't begrudge Michie if he looked else where. Don't know what he has to do to get a run. Gets 30 touches almost every week 24 and 2 goals last week. Really want to see him get a good go at it. Would have been a good replacement for Mundy if they choose to rest him. Feel for the bloke! Surley a better In than Crichton.

Is Crichton being picked as a back up to Ibbotson in case he doesn't make it? I don't think Michie has the ability to play defence. Yes I do agree that it's an insult to him naming Crichton before him but just looking at any logical reason.

Sheridan and Crozier have been involved this year. Looks like we've picked them as players who can fill in if any of the best 22 miss.

Personally I think Michie could contribute just as much as any outside the best 22 and it leaves me scratching my head but we've got to trust who the match committee puts out there.

I disagree. GWS have built some momentum over the past month and have come off their first win of the Season. I reckon Sheedy will be building them up for a "finals like game".

I bet Ross won't be taking this one easily, as every win and percentage point is still critical for us ...

This is certainly one we cannot afford top drop. The Freo of old had a habit of dropping games it was supposedly certain to win. We have not done this in a while, but we certainly can't go in taking them lightly - Richmond exposed us for pace a bit a couple of weeks ago.

You guys for real? I know we shouldn't be cocky or anything but GWS are gonna get a hiding and will be lucky to keep it under 70 points.

Time to move on from the past where every game was hit and miss and if we were $1.01 favorites you could be sure of a loss.

We really need a 100 point win if we are going to have any chance of snaring 2nd off of Sydney.

People people, I know we all (most) love Viv, but Crichton was always going to be the one most likely to come in for CPearce/Ibbo. He's clearly being groomed for that position. How well he can do it is still a bit of question, but if he's not going to come in with those outs/question marks, then he's never going to get in and Ross has always had a bit of a soft spot for Crichton.

Viv will only come in if one of the big three mids sits out maybe Neale (even then Sutty and Shero are probably going to get a gig ahead of him). That's the rub of the green at this stage of things.

Perhaps Chrichton just provides a bit more flexibility for late outs. Can play back and mid. Can Michie?

This is what I posted last time Crichton was listed as an emergency (Richmond game?) but considering there's still some doubt over Mundy Viv should at least have been an emergency to cover that.

I can only guess there is some doubt over Duffield/Spurr or even Ibbo for Crichton to be selected as realistically they are the only ones he'd be a remotely reasonable replacement for.

Has ever occured to you that he may well want out already. He could have called his intentions some time ago, in which case I can see why Ross would leave him on the sidelines. Why waste developing a player that's not going to be around.

On the other hand, his name comes up a fair bit from Ross for someone who never gets a game, and most times Ross mentions Viv it's that he's working to a plan and to reach a standard. If he's not there yet, then he doesn't get picked ... plus, as I said in above post, there's not really a spot in the team for him anyway, unless it's to take a Neale or Shero's spot, which I think is unfair as both have done reasonable jobs.

Well, to be perfectly fair, I'll admit that Crichton's ability to play in a few spots isn't worth overlooking. And it's not like Max Duffy's coming in at Michie's expense.

But Michie is surely more deserved than Sheridan – a player who I think is just a coaster.

I see what you mean but Crichton is a defender, whereas Michie is a midfielder. Not sure I'd want Viv coming in for Ibbo or Clancee.

Well if that's the case that he wants out then fair enough but i haven't heard that. All i see is Viv racking up huge numbers and doing all he can in the WAFL each week for no reward. Not having a go at Ross or Freo as i'm sure there is a reason I just find it confusing When you bring in Jesse who hasn't done that much. Like i said if Mundy did get rested he would have been a good replacement but for now he continues to sit out.

Well you have done it now SA.

Sheridan BOG with 35 disposals and 4 goals ;)

Sick of seeing Sheridan's name in our line-up, and sicker of Crichton's on the emergency.

Michie will be playing in Victoria next year and will become a superstar.

Just saw this on the AFL app.
Freo to win by......
14 pts?!

IF Cretwdsftghbn is in as a backup for someone of his similar persuasion fair enough BUT surely Sheridan or Sutcliffe could miss a game or two, to at least give Viv a chance to prove himself this year because he certainly has earned it. Not sure what ticking these so called boxes means that some speak of, in regards to Viv, as surely the best way to do this is on the field and he has seemingly ticked most of them with his WAFL performances far more so than Sheridan or Cgrtfdeswdrftghyui.

Stupid prediction there.

As a top 4 side we should be winning by 100, but personally as long as we look in control the entire game and win every quarter I'll be quite satisfied with the result. I'd say that'd be 40+ points. Anything below a 30 point victory would feel a bit like a loss tbh.
