Round 23 Boycott, if they wont listen, make them listen.

A better strategy would be to end up with 50,000 at the game chanting Hinkley Out or No We Kent or something
Macca, dollars are the only thing they can’t lie about.

If we get a good crowd suddenly Dwaynos talking about how its a great show of support for Ken to pull the team into finals. Placards won’t be shown on TV, effects mics will blur chants.

Its ineffectual because the club knows we’re not happy already, and the only thing that holds their feet to the fire is something PR can’t erase.

There won't be any chanting of Hinkley out. There won't be any signs. The Happy Clappers will still awkwardly hold up their scarves. We probably will win. Nothing will change.

A crowd of 17,351 will make them very nervous though.
This is the only thing that will promote change in this club, the possibility of members not signing up

a few signs or songs here and there will mean next to nothing

I'm not boycotting. And the KKK are not the only problem.

We had a chance to grab finals by the throat. Selection could have been better, but we sent 22 out on the ground- and they squibbed.

We are letting the players off too lightly. We are not playing finals because they did not deliver. They have the talent but they prove time and time again that they don't have the desire. A bunch of cashed up millennials who look at photos of premiership teams on the walls and don't get it.

This squad has many times the talent of the teams of the 90s but one fifth the heart. Blame the coach all you like mid season when he doesn't get them up for a game, but we were two wins from finals and they put in a half arsed shift. This is a group incapable of playing desperate Port Adelaide football regularly enough.

Boycott wont work
i will be there as usual because i like going to the footy and so does my daughter
i wont be participating in NTUA though as i feel like the club is doing a great job of tearing itself apart

Can see it now.. The bulldogs will beat the crows by 1 point rendering our game a dead rubber, then we will go on to beat Freo by 100 points and end up 9th

I said about 6 weeks ago that we'd finish 9th

I like the thinking outside the box — a "Port Supporters Club"... Not sure it would have many support, but depending on how the actual club goes, it might get traction.

this has already happened once but for a similar but different reason.......and it worked.

It's all well and good to crack a tanty here on BigFooty and lament the brass for being too weak to pull the pin on the Hinkley era, but if you're too weak yourself to incite any physical change and just rock up to Adelaide Oval week after week with your fingers crossed, then what message are you sending the club?

Why expect any change when you're not willing to make any changes yourself?

Nah. The cost of sacking him won't change. It's a fixed cost. He has his contract in place.

What needs to occur for him to be sacked is for it to be made very clear to the powers that be that the cost of sacking him will be outweighed by the cost of not sacking him.
What if our club’s hands are tied by the AFL

I really wish we did a proper clean out this year and properly backed in youth. Frampton, Garner, Drew all deserved more consecutive games, a privilege the first round picks got.

Ken's obsession with rating players (and affording them opportunity) based on what was given up for them is nauseating.

Hi

I dropped in on the Port board for a serious question on the weekend and was treated with respect Thankyou!

So I would like to tell you a story.

NOT SHOWING UP TO THE GAME is STUPID and sends exactly the wrong message.

It was R22 at Olympic Park ANZ Stadium 2002. Crowd 40000+ Swans out of finals

It was Superstars Paul Kelly and Andrew Dunkley's last game that helped.
Eade had been sacked. Roos caretaker coach in 2002.
Terry Wallace abruptly resigned from Dogs the week before (Swans fans feared, correctly, he had the job!)

When it was time for a full lap of honour for Kelly and Dunkley . Paul Roos strode to greet them on the ground.

THE SOUND was MASSIVE HUGE. It sounds like Booos ...….BUT it was ROOOOS!

The painted linen sheets , the placards , everyone on their feet shouting NO WALLACE! , … WE WANT ROOS!
No one left (not easy at that train departure ground) other than a few Richmond fans and even then most of them stayed.
It went on for at least 20minutes.

Very sad for Kelly and Dunkley.

BUT even so we now discover Swans LATER secretly had to pay out Wallaces full 3 yaear contract, and the Swans board and AFL had NO CHOICE , but to appoint Roos!

Nek minet,.... 2005 - 72 years, HERE IT IS!

If you wanna vote and be heard be there and be vocal!

I do not know if it is Hinkley's fault??? but staying away WILL NOT HELP but hinder your bleating cause.

Cheers

Just checking. Another embarrassing part of Port match days.

It is what it is. We're not the only club to be doing this type of stuff.

You had Roos to support over Wallace getting the job. We have nobody to support.

Not only that, our Eade hasn’t resigned

In addition we’re not the Swans, so unlike northern teams the AFL give zero shits about fan engagement/detachment as long as the cash cow keeps giving milk

One thing I would love would be a silent protest from the cheer squad. IE no celebrating after goals, no flag waving, no putting the opposition off when lining up for goal, no chants. just silence. Unfortunately I think a fair few in the area are in the "Support the club and Ken through thick and thin or go join the mob down the road" mentality.

I for one wont be participating in NTUA, and ill be staying in my seat. I encourage others to not to join in either.

REH

You were one of the most respected and intelligent posters (to me) ONCE?
(when once took these forum s#1T a bit TOO serious!)

WTF?

GET ONE! !!!!

3 guesses! and it is not VOSS! (imho)

You show up and make yourself heard, you hear?
I always show up. Usually the umpires hear me.

I was living in Sydney in 2002. I went to a few of those games and heard the Roos support. Missed Rd 22. Was at Footy Park watching Port bust its arse against Lions to try and dodge the MCG home Prelim Final rule.
