Dawson out was a massive change. Previously when we got the ball in the backline other teams would leave Dawson in space, never manning him up. It was win/win for them. They had an extra forward that could apply pressure elsewhere or we would kick it to Dawson and he would either slow up our transition/make a blunder.
Yeah for sure. Injecting speed and skills at the expense of height also made a big difference. I really hope we continue injecting skills and speed more over the coming weeks, especially in our back line where we still have some one dimensional players.

I genuinely worry about Carlton for no other reason than they have good form against us here. They've won 3 out of their last 5 here and in 2014 we had a Houdini escape with Neale's kick for goal in the dying seconds... only in 2015 we were convincing.

Pretty similar to us against Tigers on paper, they were easy favourites but we went in with the confidence of having the wood over them at the MCG as of late.

Plus - we haven't had a straightforward victory yet. Essendon matched us until they collapsed in the last.

Every reason to be optimistic...i mean sure you guys are the favourites especially at home though we do play pretty well over there normally.

Both teams playing some good footy...you guys a bit better obviously but not by so much that we're already writing this week off as a loss.

I'd probably have Freo favourites around 60 - 40 myself.
If we're 'on' and you're a bit off we are certainly a big chance.
I am thinking Calton up by 5 points with 21 seconds to go and then yep

Carlton supporters seem confident on their board. I know they're not complete and utter dog shit anymore but surely we can beat them this weekend?

Yeah. Theres the usual optimistic outlook you'd expect from loyal fans but there's some underlying logic there.

our recent record at Subi v you guys hasn't been terrible, your victories have been well earned (thanks for beating the Tigers that way, very enjoyable) rather than easy smashings and you don't pile on a score, usually, and our backline is going pretty well.

10-12 goals will probably win it and it might rain.

We've been 3:1 underdogs or worse in our wins.

I think you'll win and I'm just hoping for a strong effort.

Good luck and no injuries!

Also. I've sent vision of Brad Hills game v the Bombers to Athletics Australia in the hope they kidnap him and hold him hostage at the AIS until the next Olympics.

Don't tell me A guy who can run like that, for that long, at that pace, in that heat, isn't one of our best athletic prospects.

Never seen anything like it. Makes torturous running look beautiful.

Weitering has a good 6 or 7 cm on Logue. Hamling would be the smarter option.

I can see Logue being more of a medium/tall defender, similar to Ibbotson, rather then a KPD.
Logues only 1 cm shorter than rance but probably got him in the vertical leap. Easton woods only 186.

Essendon were collapsing at the end of the second quarter. Second half was dominated by Freo.

Agreed. With the forecast at the moment being rain for Sunday, I would wait and bring him back in 2 weeks for the Collingwood game. I wouldn't bother taking him to Adelaide next week.

SHill is important for us for years yet, I'd hate for him to be rushed back for a game that's not in the scheme of things important and risk his longevity by making a small problem into a big one. Sure, in a semi final or granny you'd consider rolling the dice, not worth it for a regular game this year.

I can't see the team thinking anything differently, if they play him he would be considered recovered, they won't roll the dice on him.

Carlton are much improved esp. with their defensive structures. We will get our chances but must not waste them as they have the rebound to really punish us.

Carlton wet weather win record this year look good also .

Tempted to bring Hilly back in, if he's not 100% cherry ripe though it's not worth the risk.

Ballas in if Grey doesn't pull up from his shoulder, otherwise he can push his claim in the WAFL.

Everyone else gets a reprieve, including Ibbo. Ryan and Logue can build into some form at Peel.

If Shill fit then

Shill for Pearce
Balic for Sutcliffe

If Grey not fit then bring in Ryan

Langdon went through a fitness test. Knee heavily bandaged and limping . Hill for Langdon and if Grey is out Balla in.
Grey out ? Ross presser said it going to take a German tank to bring him down :)

Rather than you misunderstood me , please read

Grey’s chances are) really good, it would take a German tank to stop him I would think,” Lyon said.

“He probably wont train today, he had a slight sublux (shoulder subluxation) but people play with them all the time.

“They strap him up and as long as the strength is ok you tend to be fine.”

Lyon credited Grey’s tenacity, which the 21-year-old has shown since his elevation from the rookie list ahead of Fremantle’s win in round three against the Western Bulldogs.

Grey has played all six games since his return to the senior list, with Fremantle winning five of those contests.

“I would think he’ll be knocking on my door saying I’m playing.,” Lyon said.

“He’s a real competitor, he’s very physical.

“Players that invest a lot don’t tend to surrender easily so he’s one that’s has to fight his way. He’s invested a lot.

“Like anyone, when you invest a lot you don’t tend to give up very quickly.”

He meant, "Tiger Tank". Ross said it would take a German tank to bring him down, Freo Dr filled in the missing dots from Ross, the Tiger tank was one of the German's most feared tanks in WW2
Thanks .
