The youth bias in this discussion is crazy. A young player who does a couple of nice things but is mostly relatively poor is preferred to a consistent player who is amongst our best goal kickers across the last 5 years.

Yeah bro averages like 10 disposals and a goal a game, people acting like he’s Jason Akermanis or somethingI agree with your general gist and I'd be bringing Freddie in once he's ready, but not sure I'd be calling him a consistent player.
High impact player sure, but consistency is probably his weak point. There's plenty of games where he's barely sighted. That and his lack of physicality are probably the two main reasons he's such a polarising figure amongst fans.
Looking at last year he had 6 games of single figure disposals. And if you draw the line one higher he had 10 games of 10 disposals or less.
In his good games he has a handy knack of kicking multiple goals, but he's a bit all or nothing. Last year he mostly kicked either zero or multiples.

Frederick is an upgrade on Scerri though.Yeah bro averages like 10 disposals and a goal a game, people acting like he’s Jason Akermanis or something
Always interesting how people have such strong favourites and don’t wanna look at the rest of our list some more
Very harsh on Scerri. The kid has played four! games. Fredfy has played what! 5 years at Freo!. Get real.Frederick is an upgrade on Scerri though.
It should be between Switkowski and Scerri anyway. Not in the boat of having both in at the same time.
Been lucky with Dudley, Switta and Scerri. Small fleet sometimes can get found out.
What a stupid comment. No one is saying he is Akermanis. We are saying he is best 23 in a good team. As a point if he averages a goal a game that is more goals each game than Scerri has kicked in his career.Yeah bro averages like 10 disposals and a goal a game, people acting like he’s Jason Akermanis or something

Quoting because you can’t like a post twice! I think it’ll be exactly this. Some clear options in this thread we can rule in/out:
1. Ras staying in the team, the kid finds his confidence so let’s go ahead and pop the balloon and drop him? No chance.
2. Cox is coming in. Going to be electric in the derby you can just sense it. Not to mention the Texans American attitude, he will be pushing hard to take Darcy’s spot long term. This is his chance.
3. Freddy for Scerri without a second thought. Yes, new shiny toy has been pleasing to see perform, but the kid hasn’t kicked a goal as a forward for three weeks. Why do we long to keep out a player who kicks goals? Valuing pressure and effort over goals is what got us into the mess from 2016.
4. It’s between JOM and Wagner to go out for Young. Someone said it earlier but Worner does too much of the ‘team valued’ things to be considered out. It would take Worner not backing into a pack or not leaving his man to support to get him dropped. Not a miskick giving up a goal.
If I had to pick, it’s Wagner out. Both are serviceable, both can have their moments both good and bad, but one plays structure and role to a tee, is in the leadership group, and also can hold his own in a 1v1. Wagner gets beaten aerially every week even in times when he has the better position. Something that as a coach, would sway me.
All in all though, just screams we are running smooth so far this year if we are 4-1 and bringing Young and Freddy into the team
Peter Griffin >> Homer Simpson.

i think its just people seeing that when his moments come he has been able to do good things, as a young player thats important. he also goes really ****ing hard when he needs to, its a good sign imoI think he has potential and done alright but I've never seen so much wanking off on this board over a few handballs. I think people just love 'new' fringe players, until they aren't. Then turn against them.

In terms of consistency in the last four years he has kicked 28, 23, 23 and 30 goals. That is fairly consistent. He kicks goals which is kinda the point in footy. We could roll out 23 defensive players who all tackle and are physical and watch as WC, Essendon, Richmond and Carlton all steamroll us if you like but I for one enjoy my team kicking goals and winning matches.
Scerri hasn't even played a WAFL game yet so has hardly earned his spot by the standards people are holding Freddy too. I like Scerri and hope he turns into a good player for us but he is not there now.
To be fair, there's been much crazier and comical calls in this thread to drop certain players. Voss is one player who doesn't seem in great form. The comedy hour continues..
Voss plays one bad game, and, as Batman would say, KAPOW. gone.
Harsh?? We're only talking about who would be better in the next game, not passing judgment on Scerri's career.Very harsh on Scerri. The kid has played four! games. Fredfy has played what! 5 years at Freo!. Get real.
Just my observations from training, Young is ready he has done the extra week and is in full training, there is no reason not to pick him. What a stupid comment.
Keep playing the man.
My point is Frederick is not some game changer, not a hero, not an A grader that warrants automatic inclusion into the side.
10 disposals. 1 goal. That is his average across 100 games.
He can go down to Peel and earn his way in, what is the issue with this?
12 to 14 others as bad as Freddy in that game? Not sure what you were watching. The only possibilities were Jye (subbed) or Fyfe (sub) and even then Jye contributed a goal. But that's just two players. And I'm not saying Fred's not an upgrade currently on Scerri but he's not quite the savior either.Drop the 12-14 others that were just as bad. Yet they’re still in the team.
The justification for it is the young player is young. The youth bias in this discussion is crazy. A young player who does a couple of nice things but is mostly relatively poor is preferred to a consistent player who is amongst our best goal kickers across the last 5 years.
That's not playing the man, they called out your comment because it was a classic strawman. What a stupid comment.

I didn't play the man I attacked your comment which was inaccurate and overblown. I made no comment about you as an individual. You taking offence at that kinda shows how weak your argument is.What a stupid comment.
