Essendon's list is much better and Clarko will have more resources at Essendon. I know which job I'd prefer.
North has the better U22's.

Essendon have the more exposed list. We've seen the ceiling on a lot of their players.

North have a lot of players who have not reached their peak yet.

I'd be taking North in a heartbeat.

Think North have a more promising list than Essendon so I would be surprised he would want to go there. Essendon to me are stuck in the area where Hawthorn had been for the last 5 years under Clarkson

Plus he is going to North and Hawthorn's biggest rivals

Big club, playing in big games. Actually makes sense to go o Essendon. North will take far longer.

You're taking the piss right? you have the most bland list in the comp with no genuine stars or developing stars.

True but you are kidding if North isn't taking 4-5 years at a minimum to even be near the 8. It has holes on a lot of lines.

Clubs are going to see the difference a new coach makes (McRae, Voss, Fagan) have rapidly accelerated dire clubs into finals contention.

Coaches are going to get sacked more often very surprised Hinkley will still be there.

I mean sure but I'd say both Fagan and Voss were also just as much recipients of a team that was building anyway. Give the Lions 5 bottom 4 finishes in a row and some draft help, the Blues multiple pick 1s and 2 fit top 10 pick forwards, and some maturity into these lists, and they'd be going up anyway. I'm sure Fagan and Voss arriving 3 years earlier wouldn't have expedited the process by 3 years.

Sure but unless he is doing a cleanout like he did in 2004, 2005 to go back first then i am not sure that list is heading any further than an elimination final

Did you realistically expect to finish more than say 11th this year? Always feel last year was a write off season, COVID year, form lines were always tough to completely get. Didn't feel Essendon were really a finals side last year even though they made it. Being honest where did you expect to come before this year?
I don't think it's the results
its the performances.

North have McKay and Larkey as 2 genuinely good book ends LDU and Simpkin about to break out JHF another pick 1 at a minimum what do the Dons have?

First order of business for clarko - pick 4 for Jack gunston...

Fair but how many games have you had a full side. Every week you are 4-5 injuries and that's with a very weak list in the first place, you have no midfielders!

Essendon have the talls too they need midfielders and that can be fixed a lot easier. Bare in mind Cox has barely played this year.

it was apparently done a month ago.

Wonder if the North offer being reported forced the hand a bit, and the weekend was welcome cover fire for it

This makes way more sense as not even the Essendon board would rush like this.

Have played the media perfectly if so. Every single media person will be saying oh I knew it but it was ALL North v GWS.
