Thanks @Hate. Why would a team possibly he punished moving forward, but not for this occurrence?

That is a great question and one would imagine if the rules have been breached and said rule has a punishment assigned, it would be immediately applied.

NaturalDisaster i think its time you reconsider your soft approach to this matter. suck up the consequences, overturn your decision to turn a blind eye and appropriately hand the bombers the correct punishment for not being able to field a full team for the past two rounds vs Wonders and Phoenix. It's clear your decision was against the rules for the league and therefore must be remedied.

Either that or ill be instructing my committee rep damicky to initiate a section 10A.

The vote doesn't have to take 2 weeks. If others are ready to vote there is no reason it can't be held earlier

As I said before, that match was going to award 4 points somewhere. Either one side wins or another side wins or it's a draw. Four points go somewhere. If a team forfeits, their intended opponent should receive those 4 points.

Any thoughts that the team which was "stood up" gets some kind of charity here is groundless.
Firstly, they would have had an opportunity to win those 4 points, which this 'charity' argument now thieves from them ... specifically because they did nothing wrong.
Secondly, the result of this match - whether team A wins, team B wins, draw, forfeit - is absolutely ZERO of any other club's business. We all have to worry about 2 teams each week, our own and our opponent. All 20 other premiership points are - and should remain - unchanged in total, regardless how they are assigned. This is how and why forfeits work.

If the Sim is completely random, regardless of input from those running it, there is no need to award points for a forfeit to Team B if Team A forfeits. You are arguing that there is no influence on the teams chance of winning, yet wanting to gift the 4 points to Team B after they were unable to win them fairly under the same conditions as every other club, via random Sim. That gives them an unfair advantage over every other club.

The only fair way is to run the game and if Team A wins, they are docked the points for a forfeit and Team B gets nothing for losing a randomly Simmed game. If Team B wins, they get the points.

If your argument is the Sim is completely random, then the players listed in Team A have zero impact on the chances of Team B winning the game. So, being unable to field a team has zero impact on the result or the oppositions chances. You could fill Team A with made up names and nothing changes the chances of either side in a truly random Sim.

Awarding Team B the points is a bullshit free kick the other teams do not get, purely based on which random week Team A is unable to field a side for whatever reason.

I guess the question simply becomes, is the Sim truly random or do the named players influence the result? If it is truly random, Team B doesn’t deserve to get the points for a game they lost fair and square.
