I still want to know what the acceptable window for appeals is. As far as I’m concerned once the admin tells Ljp to edit the ladder and it is posted that ladder is locked in place. It is an admin directive.

Back when you could appeal sim errors clubs had 24hrs. Commonsense says this should be the recognised appeal window otherwise we could have teams wasting time with appeals weeks after an incident. They had six days with the incorrect squad sheet and three days to appeal, how much time is needed? And any argument “we didn’t know, we weren’t told or penalised earlier” doesn’t hold up, how is anyone else supposed to know Power Raid was supposed to be there.

Of course, the real argument and appeal is that the original squad submission wasn’t incorrect but of course PR was just relisted as they didn’t want him in the team sign up thread so that blew that one, admitting he was always supposed to be there.

24 hours would be a fair timeframe.

Totally agree.

Imagine asking to get LJP to go back and reverse it all again. Wasting his time and ******* him around no end.

No appeal should be allowed.

Agreed, just penalise them 50 points and be done with it.

But then they would overtake the Gumbies' penalty record. Absolutely not.

As per the letter of the law, there are three breaches. I think they appealing the wrong one though. They should appeal 4D as the intent is for players to indicate that they want to join a team prior to squad submission deadline. The rookie did this by joining the team PM and posting.

Yes, three very obvious breaches. The rules are very clear in this regard and the offences committed are of a minor nature (minor offences) as per the current guidelines, therefore a penalty of two premiership points is to be applied as per the current penalties schedule. People may disagree with the penalty in that it should be less/more but that's the penalty to be applied as it has been written in the current penalties schedule so any argument as to the severity is irrelevant.

Given the clear breaches that have made, this should be a 12-0 vote in favour of upholding but previous precedence with the committee means it is highly likely that it won't be. It is clear to me that the competition needs a proper rules/disputes/appellate committee and/or tribunal to be governed independently of the clubs, administrator and Ops Manager and this is something that I have been saying for some time now. It's wrong that appeals are still being sent to the clubs for decision despite the clubs being the custodians of the rules and are responsible for setting the rules before the commencement of the season. Several times now over the last number of seasons, we've seen clear penalties committed by a club or clubs only for the appeal to be sent to the remaining clubs via committee for a decision and it being upheld, contradicting the rules that the clubs themselves agreed to put in place before the start of the season. It does not make any sense at all that clubs would strike down the very rules they chose to implement to govern the competition at the beginning of the season.

Regarding Rule 4D, this is a clear breach as the rule states that a player must post in the main SFA forum in order to be eligible to be signed to a club. This person didn't and hence that is a breach of Rule 4D.

The mistake is the assumption that Power Raid had been delisted. He hadn’t. He wasn’t an out. He should have been on the list, and he was put in the line-up accordingly.

The third strike is due playing an actual player. We are being punished twice for the same fact. The third strike wouldn’t have happened, if we had been notified prior to Thursday.

That’s all.

You shouldn't have to be notified. You have a team of over 20 people who could have checked the list to make sure it was accurate. Stop blaming others for your teams failures.

I’m not sure how the rest of the league is supposed to make any assumptions about Power Raid’s status. For it to be noticed I imagine a helpful poster would have to be a) with photographic memory and b) weird. I don’t know if we have anyone here with a photographic memory.

Only if they're paper/cardboard. I don't want that shit cluttering up my environment Clarkey.

The Swamprats would be in a much better position if they had people in their ranks who had experience reviewing the rules

NONSENSE! I’m not blaming others. I’m blaming Kennedy Parker.

Which was the second strike… 🙂
