And yes, posters should have to post their consent/acknowledgment that thay have been signed to join up, common sense I woulda thought. There’s weeks to get them to post at least once and it’s not that hard to right IN or something in a thread

Only if you signed them up weeks ago, otherwise there might be a matter of hours between them agreeing to play and the arbitrary cut off time for making a post.

Surely the end of week 2 game threads would be a more appropriate time to ascertain the posters intention to participate. Until then, they are probably doing a whole lot of this

Except the rookie only agreed to join the day team lists were due. 2 days later they became a focus of someone else's agenda and walked away.

You of all people should know how hard it is to recruit rookies and retain them.

4D) Free Agency

Off-Season

Free agency occurs between seasons from the grand final to squad submission date. Free agents may only be signed with permission. Player movement between clubs is unrestricted with permission of the player.

Players who are new to the league signed during the offseason are required to either make a post on the main Sweet FA forum confirming their participation with their club before officially being added to the squad.

Any player movement not specified in the rules is not considered legal. In the event of uncertainty, the club must contact the administrator for consideration with the committee.




Kennedy Parker I believe we have several ineligible players listed in squads this season.

The following players have not met the listing criteria and I trust you'll throw the book at their teams:

• FurTheWin (CIW)
• RedBloodBlackSwan (WON)
• KinderSmock (SCS)
• Chili (OOB)

Upon exerting the minimum effort to investigate this claim.

The Coney Island Warriors, West Coast Wonders, Sin City Swamprats and Ophidian Old Boys have breached 4D which requires players new to the league to make at least 1 post affirming their intent to partake in the league prior to being added onto the official squad.

This entails a minor offence under Rule 6B.

6B) Minor Offence

• Incorrect player signing as per 4C and 4D

The aforementioned clubs will now have 1 strike recorded under the Three-Strike Policy, should any club record a third strike it will result in a 2-point penalty.

If your player has since made a post participating in the league such as engaging in a match thread then that is taken as implicit agreement to join and no further action is required.

If your player has still yet to make a post on the SFA board they are considered ineligible for selection until a post affirming their participation (either directly or indirectly) is made.

Please don’t turn into NaturalDisaster already.

I understand your team is part of the discussion, doesn’t mean you have to bend the rules to punish them just to placate serial_thrilla and his agenda.

Read the rest of this thread and the rule again, it is ambiguous at best, and there is clearly part of it missing. Without the or part of the rule, who can say if the condition was or wasn’t met?

Rather than guessing, why not err on the side of doing the right thing by the rookies and the clubs trying so hard to attract new talent?
