Can I please ask everyone to contribute the most unflattering Ken Hinkley facts, figures, moments, and quotes they can think of? It is time we rammed home the reality of this club's situation to the casual supporters and true believing sheep.

There is nowhere in the constitution that allows for 5% of Club Members to call an EGM.

Nothing in the Corporations Act would allow for it. From the Constitution

In other words, it's not a real club, it's a franchise to which we buy their merchandise and give it money.

This isn't the PAFC I grew up supporting and NTUA is total bullshit. It's an AFL imposter.

Very sad, but explains how losers like Ken. Repeat failure who will go down in history as a lost decade of "who was he again", have been permitted to even enter the club.

The problem with all of this is that Ken defaults to being over defensive. All these players - and a number of others - have been held back by having to play in defensive roles, despite being brought to the club for their attacking skills. Yes, they all need to make a defensive contribution to the team and "run both ways" (that was the problem with Polec & Wingard), but they need to be encouraged to take the game on.

The last quarter was a perfect example. I believe KH gets highly anxious when the pressure is on, and can only relieve his anxiety by reverting to "safety first". In this situation, all he is capable of is to try to "park the bus" and hope to get goals on the rebound. This never succeeds for the team, but it relieves KH's anxiety. If we were to go attacking, even if we start piling on goals, his anxiety would go sky-high.

But other coaches now expect this to happen, and are highly alert to any signs (e.g. stacking the defence) that KH has dropped his bundle and handed them the momentum, and know that that's the time to pile on the pressure and they come at us hard. KH's response is to get even more defensive, which makes it worse.

What was needed at 3Q time was to take the initiative right from the start of the last quarter, with all-out attack. Taking up what another poster said several pages ago about Schoey & Hinkley not getting along, I believe that this is the main cause of that. Schoey & perhaps Monty know we need to seize the momentum & attack, but under pressure, KH can only defend, and unfortunately KH has the final call. Sometimes (especially in the early part of the game) the others can talk him out of going defensive; sometimes they can't.

This is why we lose close games far too often, always to the same pattern. I think it's actually beyond KH's control.

Unfortunately the failed 1990 bid meant we would be handing control over to the SANFL and now the AFL.

The AFL are control freaks and want maximum control.

As much as the SANFL are a bunch of campaigners, at least they let us elect 5 out of 10 and then 4 out of 8/10 board members when we reduced it from 10 to 8 but allowed the board - and therefore SANFL - to appoint 2 "experts" to the board on their discretion to improve things so we floated between 8 and 10 directors.

Its why getting the licence back from the SANFL and handing it to the AFL when they became our bankers / guarantors was not as great as some on here thought. Yes it pissed off the SANFL, which the AFL wanted to do, but they were always going to get their pound of flesh.

Its why we have to pay off our debt with both the AFL and our bankers so they they don't have to go guarantor.

Its why we need China to work big time ie a new $20m+ revenue stream outside of the China game day revenue to cover game day costs, over 3 or 4 years and help pay off debt, build stuff at Alberton and tell the AFL to piss off.

Its why we need on field success to be able to charge market rates and hopefully a premium for sponsorships.

This board helped save our club. They now have become scared to take it to the next level. They are a don't rock the boat types, and they ****ed up big time re-signing Ken and not demanding finals success.

I'm scared of replying to the clubs twitter page with sack hinkley stuff because I reckon they'd start blocking people.

I'll be giving it a try sooner rather than later. Couldn't give a stuff, only got twitter so i could vote on one of the early polls about the prison bars and only started using it again so i can have a dig at Hinkley when Cornes brings up the pathetic winning % garbage.

I sent an e-mail on Monday to membership asking how to cancel my premiership fund subscription, not that its financially crippling atm. I told them I will re-contribute when Ken is gone and our memberships will not be auto renewed.
