We can’t blame the umpiring for this loss. Was that free to Mirra contentious? Yes, but it wasn’t the real cause of our loss. The players lost it, due to the increase in pressure applied by the saints. We lost it by running out of legs. St.Kilda played way better in the last then what we did.

We were down at least one man for 3/4s of the game. At points we were down 2-3. That combined with the fact we had a super inexperienced inside midfield, we did well to make it as close as it was.

Can't blame the umpires for that. Sure, the last call was iffy against Mirra, but constant injuries through the game cost us considerably. We weren't running well outside of a couple of players and Saints were working well as a defensive unit late in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

We didn't know we were going to get about four other injuries during the game though. Fair call to leave out O'Meara IMO.

As for the umpires, we didnt get shafted. They were bad both ways. We were just not polished enough. Dropped marks, butter fingers with handpasses, easy shots, and poor disposal cost us. But a lot of that was saints pressure.

We got done by a better team on the day.

Our scoring dryed up badly. Good fight, getting forward entries at the end there, just weren't able to conjure a shot. Tired and unable to get out of defense is what lost it for us.

Also, didn't like that call on Mirra, and then the ump didn't pay the exact same thing the other way soon after...same umpire from a few weeks ago. Don't like him. He's been inconsistent in all his games.

Rested did we. You know this? He played out the game last week with a hip issue and did nothing all week on the track to try and get up for the game.
He couldn't kick last week after hurting it but yeah we rested him....
