My "side?"

3-4 of the right wing posters on BigFooty like to boil politics down to left and right, and think they're braving a battle against the SJWs or something. It's great value reading if you ever have a lull in your day, or if you're on PT.

Right, that would explain why I saw totally unnecessary stalker paparazzi pic of the PM & his wife on holiday the other day.

You can't be too careful, security and all. Public information regarding his brief family holiday destination should have remained on a need to know basis, and by that I don't mean the media or general public.

It isn’t a matter of national security. The lie made the situation worse.

As a dad with young kids I find our PM very relatable. Him being a practicing Christian is a bonus. We are fortunate to have him as our PM. So much hate on this thread. Thankfully the BF & twitter majority aren't a true reflection of Australian society.
I see you choose not to include any actual facts in your post. Par for the course.

The gay marriage vote only passed because of the silent majority.

Most reasonable people believe that PM Morrison is doing a good job. Night and day between him and that useless fake conservative Turnbull, that's for sure.

Depends what one thinks is a good job because I can't think of anything he has actually done and Turnbull is every bit the standard Liberal voters that you find in many safe Liberal electorates.

A tourist who took a picture of the Prime Minister relaxing on his Christmas break — after he told media he’d rush back to Australia as quickly as he could — said he approached Mr Morrison.

The tourist told 10 News he asked Mr Morrison whether was going home to “resolve the bushfire situation”.

“His comment to me is that this was a state issue,” he said.

“He was quite happy to sit and have cocktails served to him when our firefighters are doing it really hard.

“I think the man just has to have a step back and a bit of a check on himself.”

That's the Empathy training paying off - NMP-DC (Not My Problem - Don't Care).

Well how about he starts to practice what he preaches then.

Being personable is all good and well, but the “Sharkies”, taking drinks to the cricketers stuff only carries you so far. His press conferences are appalling exercises in obfuscation and outright deceit. Parliament sits so infrequently they govern by regulation. And their economic management is rubbish. Monetary policy has run its course, the government need to get cash into this economy now.

He connived to get this job, he needs to do some actual work that serves the interests of people beyond his circle.

He is setting a fine example for all of us. Would it kill you to at least try to be a better person?

My Dad used to say A true leader knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.

If Scomo is a true leader is he telling us all to bugger off out of Australia, when the going gets tough?

Some great letters on Morrison in today's SMH. (Actually, some great letters on other topics too - a bumper crop today.)

(Particularly liked this one):

In recent years, the Coalition has given us a highly effective opposition leader who couldn't govern, a wealthy man who couldn't govern his party and now a marketing man who refuses to govern. This latest version is the most dangerous.

I didn't think Australia could do worse than Abbott, but Morrison is giving him a good run for his money.
Hard to believe we could do worse than a bloke who spent half his time burrowed in his office writing speeches imagining himself as a latter day Churchill but here we are. What a time to be alive.

Actually the PMO said to not report on it.

Is that the same national support plan that is woefully underfunded.

Sometimes, it’s ok to demand better from leadership. And you know that no other former PM would have done the same as Morrison.

When a former PM did a lot more he was attacked and told he should be doing other things.

As for funding, what is the right amount? And where does the money come from? How much should the states be paying, given it is their legal responsibility?

When that number is a massive increase, do you want to pay more tax for it, or cut services (will you use the Labor plan or the Greens plan for this)?

Also, given its federal funding, how do you ensure that the money is appropriately distributed across the states and territories in a manner which is both fair and legal? Should the federal government take over the handling of fires given it is their money and they need to ensure it is managed properly?

Final question: Do you base the funding on what former fire chiefs who are no longer involved say, or based on what current fire chiefs who are involved say?
