When the commos got the boot in the late 80s the conservatives needed a new target for their plentiful venom, and never being one to pick on people their own size, they decided that the gay community, reeling from Aids but a hotbed of activism and very much finding it's voice would make a good target. Now that we've largely defeated these bigots they're targeting trans people in almost exactly the same way they did gay people. Same rhetoric, same fear campaigns, we've seen all of this before.

I believe this is at least the second thing that has made Morrison's skin crawl, one had to do with role playing bisexual teens, the other is the CFMEU guy using his kids in a Twit.

Things that don't make Morrison's skin crawl and won't face deregulation / removal of licence (any consequence)
-Covering up child molestation
-Gubmint offshore concentration camps - including detention of children
-Bribing of Gubmint / Corruption of Gubmint
-Market manipulation by Big Four banks

You'll find the vast majority Australians agree with Morrison. And don't conflate homosexuality with transsexuality, the former does not require a cascading series of severely life altering medical interventions.

I’m pretty happy teachers are trained to be aware of a wide range of kids issues, this just being one of them.

All kids have needs, and the awareness and strategies helps each one be the best citizen they can be.

Surely the alternative is education only useful for an increasingly narrower group of kids

To me it's one of life's great mysteries what the Governor-General, State Governor and University Chancellor actually does on a regular work day.

Thing is since 2009/10 when the major parties started treating their job in government like a joke the GG has had plenty of opportunity to intervene and at least call an election (like again now) yet has let the nonsense drag out to it's full course. Absolute waste of time (and money) position.

Without getting into the broader issue, this is a pretty illogical and bad argument. While there is no reason to believe that 'gender whisperers' are attempting to convince children to do anything of the sort, gaslighting is a thing and predators are able to groom children to do things and have certain self-images. "I can't get my kids to clean their room" is no more a valid argument than ScoMo saying "We don't need gender whisperers".

Par for the course for Twitter though.

I can't recall the names so I can't find the case, but I did read from credible sources about a psychologist abusing two children under the guise of counselling them on their transsexuality back in the 70's or something. If anyone knows what I'm talking about I'd appreciate a link as I can't remember the details, but it did raise for me concerns about POTENTIAL for the responsibility of looking out for youth with this issue to be abused for me, however I do not see a cause for believing it is the case with the program ScoMo is tweeting about to try and herd the One Nation demographic back into his flock.

they could be 100% sure at age 15 they want to be a woman
Age 24 comes and they have found they are gay and are happy being gay, with feminine traits, and oh so happy they didn't get a gender reassignment

There is plenty of research out there that indicates huge percentages of children who self identify as transgender , later change their minds and go back to the original gender, often identifying as Gay/Lesbian

Yes I know yet you haven't cited any. I have read some of it also watched a couple of documentaries. We are now moving into an area that has been discussed widely in the 'Transgender' thread in SRP perhaps take it there.

My original post was specifically about Morrison's comment/tweet which I believe was based more on his personal beliefs and not on fact. I believe that teachers are well trained and the majority would seek professional advice if a child did come to them. Better that than children feel isolated.
