The idea that it’s the states and the Federal gov can’t do anything seems to be getting spread about.

Fed gov can make grants available, help with smaller direct payments to victims to help out right now, negotiate and use leverage on the states to get them to properly fund their fire services.

Morrison doesn't get it, it isn't about causing offense but its about commonsense because if he spend a week or two visiting local fire impacted communities then that would have been a positive for those towns and for him politically and Morrison could have enjoyed the week off in November when the APEC meeting was cancelled.

So until yesterday ScoMo had nothing to contribute towards the fire emergency in Australia, nothing for the fire-fighters and nothing for the victims of these fires. It was all down to the individual states.
Now, we have unfortunately had two fire-fighters killed and suddenly ScoMo is on the next plane home because there's photo opportunities with the grieving families to be had.
