Why were you mittigating it with all those other things like she is still in Australia??? That's right because you have different standartds depneding on party...

seriously, see previous posts.

ive answered this 3 or 4 times, as to why there was a backlash on Morrison.

Why have you gotten so defensive and salty? There's always that one guy when religion gets criticised

If you really think no faith teaches that sorta stuff then you need to go out more and educate yourself
Standing up for common civility and discouraging attacks on minorities is not ‘defensive or salty’. Nonsense is nonsense.

Back to the point - the hint was the reference to logical thought - because you have seen one woman in a Volvo not come to rest at a Stop sign does not indicate that all women, or Volvo, drivers fail to.

Standing up for common civility when identifying attempts to sow division is not ‘defensive or salty’. Wrong is wrong.

So telling truths that you don't like is "sowing division"? You are a special one. You really think you're a white knight standing up against injustice, because some guy pointed out some awful things about a faith. You got tickets on yourself

I would wager you are religious yourself, maybe even go to a megachurch, so you are just being precious and defensive about your own faith

You may want to go and research on charismatic/evangelical/pentecostal churches, it's culture, doctrine, what they teach to their followers, and the countless scandals that follow them before trying to white knight here. Hint: don't stand on the side of the abusers and pretend you are the hero

I mean... yes...

Should volunteers be paid?

Every time or just this time? Do we set up some back pay for the thousands of other times volunteers have volunteered?

Just for fires or for all forms of volunteering?

Or just this time? Because Twitter is getting antsy.

Are they not covered by RFS insurance? As well as personal or super insurance?

A friend of mine's dad had a heart attack and was well taken care of.

You could turn that question around and ask why his faith is so obsessed with hating on little old me?
Probably different for other churches but the only Christians I've really known well are Seven Day Adventists, can't recall them ever even mentioning gays let alone constantly hating on them.

Exhausted firefighters who have been on the frontline volunteering for 12-hour day and overnight shifts over the past six weeks to fight the Gospers Mountain megablaze in the NSW Blue Mountains are pleading for tax breaks to help them shoulder lost income and mounting bills.
The call comes as the region, about two hours north west of Sydney CBD, braces for temperatures to soar above 43 degrees on Thursday, followed by 32 degrees on Friday and 46 degrees on Saturday.
"We're exhausted, we're buggered, and we've had it," the Deputy Captain of the Bilpin Fire Brigade, Jim Newton, told The Australian Financial Review yesterday, adding prior to this year, the longest he had ever had to take off work to fight fires was two weeks.
Why do you have such an issue with these people being compensated for putting their lives on the line? Losing income, causing hardship on their own families.

"BTW if they are paid for this work are they actually volunteers?" - HairyO

"This fire is so big and hot now, it won't go out until we have rain – and there's no rain forecast. Like a lot of the volunteers, it's preying on my mind that at some point I need to get back to work to feed my family."
A self-employed rural contractor, including for the Rural Fire Service, Mr Newton returned home from a 12-hour shift this week to find a $5000 tax bill in his letter box.

You are a flog.

He also put Thunberg back in her place today. I would vote for him again just for that.

You were going to vote for him again no matter what.
You're just a shameless opportunist piling in on an optimistic 16 year old.
Yeah, crush her hopes and destroy her dreams - that'll set her back in her proper place.
arseh*le.

First time I've seen this raised. Would love to see it happen.

Treasury modelling had the unemployment rate supported by between 1.6 and 1.7% due to the stimulus packages, meaning ongoign flows into consolidated revenue in subsequent years paid for a large portion of the stimulus.

It was a range of measures that were rolled out, not just a cash handout. The schools funding (as controversial as it was) did most of the heavy lifting, with lessons learned from 93 shaping much of it (Henry and Stevens were the actual architects, Rudd just said yes to their proposals).
Its almost like Rudd Gillard Rudd didnt **** our economy for at least a generation.

You realise that HairyO is absolutely right regarding those employed having their salary covered while firefighting. Firefighters who run their own businesses however are a different story such as those who are commenting in this piece. Trust you'd come in and abuse people for being wrong when you are the one who is wrong.

[/QUOTE]

THey should be cancelled for being the same eery year
Oh the double standards. Crickets from leftists.

Except the Queensland Premier has remained in Queensland and there are no major fires currently threatening property.

If Morrison had stay in Canberra or Sydney or taken a road trip to impacted towns then he would have been fine.

The same policies which have subsequently been shown to have been wasteful and useless? Not to mention the fact that the country was helped through by mining boom.

Can you explain to me using evidence how they were wasteful and useless?

Its almost like Rudd Gillard Rudd didnt fu** our economy for at least a generation.

Can you provide me with the evidence for this statement?

What bullshit, coming from you of all people.
No bullshit there. If this poster put forward the same standards for the premier of QLD she wouldn't have tried to mitigate it with reasons after like she's still in Australia and she's still getting briefings (which Scott was too) which are obviously playing down the significance she views about her going on leave.

From the same article... that you didn't read.

Like Mr Newton, 90 per cent of the Bilpin brigade of 60 volunteers are self-employed or contract workers, aged between 40 and 60, with families and mortgages.
Surely even you agree that the firefighters should be compensated? Tax breaks, debt reduction, something... Rather than fall into financial ruin because they are risking their lives...?

a-hole.

I voted for Hawke & for Keating in the 80's and 90's and Independent in 2016 when Turnbull was PM. No party is guaranteed my vote.

Get a grip. Her 'hopes and dreams' do not take precedence of everyone else's. She can sit down at the kids table and wait her turn. It's embarrassing that there are grown adults that are worshiping her and her cult.

The only embarrassing thing about Greta Thunberg's crusade is that it has to exist in the first place - its very existence means that politicians (grown adults) are not doing their job.

I thought you were about 18. How embarrassing for you. What a shill you are for a liberal party. Cupcakes for Scott Morrison...??

What relevance has that got to the fact that you found yourself making false claims about another poster once again by calling HairyO a flog on the basis that you thought he posted incorrect information which he has not. Now in true style you are deflecting from the fact that you have been caught out and were wrong by trying to divert away from the fact that employers do cover salaries of firefighters volunteering and focus on volunteers who run their own enterprise such as contracting and who currently don't get the same support due to not being employed by an entity.

No one reasonable would disagree with firefighters volunteering who are not employees being compensated. However that is still not going to deflect or divert from the fact that you came in and attacked and abused another poster all guns blazing telling him he was wrong about something and calling him a flog for it when he wasn't wrong.
