Obviously I despise Morrison and believe he should have resigned about 20 scandals ago...

But just one point about the recent historical rape allegation against the Cabinet Minister, I actually don't think its proper or justified for Morrison to stand the Minister down.

If the Minister has indeed rejected the allegations, then it really is a matter for the AFP and state police to investigate. There's no way the PM or anyone else is privy to information or can determine the veracity of the allegations that would justify standing down of the Minister.

Of course, standing the Minister down would immediately expose this person to trial by media as they would be identified.

Disagree with Morrison on almost everything he says and does, but unless I'm missing something, agree with his position on this.

But this is the Bigfooty SRP board, or the meeting of the most outraged of the left, who blame Morrison when its raining then when it’s not.

so NRL/AFL are too excessive, in their response to situations like this?

The Prof nails it.

Aged care is stuffed because of
1) Privatisation- Owners are generally businessman trying to make a profit.
2) A shift from properly qualified trained staff to staff doing an internet course then placed on minimum wage.
So basically cutting costs and not providing properly trained staff.

“it’s the inquiry we had to have”

How can anyone work with this minister who allegedly r*ped a child and there is evidence to show it happened.
Everyone knows it happened because of the diary kept and the good character of the victim who had no incentive to make it up.
His position is untenable. How can these liberal ministers continue to support a child rapist?

Which examples are you referring to?

To suggest that the Minister stand down is I think to assume the allegations are true. Again unless I'm missing something, there's been allegations made which are denied by the Minister, now referred to the AFP. It will not assist the investigation to stand the Minister down and would only have the affect of being prejudicial.

the calls of 'the Cabinet Minister can't serve with this hanging over his head' are nonsensical, because again it assumes guilt which isn't yet proven or and has barely even been examined.

There’s 16 men in federal cabinet.

Time for the “journalists” to step up.

“Do you confirm or deny that you are the alleged rapist detailed in the letter to the Prime Minister?”

I don’t care how much of a party loyal psychopath you are, that is impossibly tough for the other 15 of them to say “I won’t confirm or deny” to.

It's about leadership. The leadership you're talking about says it's okay for Morrison to leave Australia whilst everybody are fighting bushfires because he can't use a hose.

Even the Catholic Church, the undisputed world champions of sexual abuse cover ups, has undertaken independent inquiries when reports of abuse are made public.

When the Federal government's practices and governance are worse than the Micks you know its seriously ****ed up.

I'm not sure how you're making that connection.

FWIW, I believe Morrison's handling of the bushfires was one of the many scandals of his tenure which should have resulted in losing the job, at the very least at the ballot, which amazingly even that seems unlikely.

Morrison is not a leader in any sense of the word, but whether or not he stands the Minister down is not do with his leadership. It's do with ensuring the integrity of the investigation of the allegations. Making public the identity of the Minister will clearly turn the investigation into a media-driven circus.

However, the complainant being deceased does complicate things obviously. If it turns out the AFP investigation is just smoke and mirrors to make the story go away, then I would doubt the integrity of the investigation. Ministers then have parliamentary privilege at their disposal if the believe a proper investigation is being stonewalled.

Don't let your bias blind you too much, across the whole of the SRP board including the sub-boards, the leaning is more to the right with a far more rabid base.

We have put in pages of documents from 2 professionals that both state her conditions are permanent and the NDIS wants her to try other treatments that the professionals think won't work. So they have knocked her back even though she can't walk and can't function on her own. We battle on
You'd think they'd approve and revisit if/when their suggested treatments have been tried.

You would think.
