Las Vegas Bears
Seen by many as a team on the rise the Bears got off to a nice start with a comfortable Round 1 victory and were almost two from two, but fell two points short in Round 2. That falling continued as they fell to a 52 point loss against the Hawks, who they face off against for a second time this week. Another thumping came in Round 4 as they fell by 42 points.
They weren't thumped in Round 5, but had to settle for a draw. The Bears entered the top 8 in Round 6 with a 32 point romp and romped some more in Round 7 with a 41 point win before falling the following week.
Round 9 saw another big win with an 85 point victory propelling them to 4th place. Round 10 saw them come up against the ladder leaders and they narrowly fell short to sit a half game inside the Top 8.
Running a recent streak of win-loss-win the Bears scored 153 points in a 26 point Round 11 win to move to 4th. Round 12 saw them move down the ladder with a loss, only to be backed up with - surprise - a win. Since Round 7, the Bears had gone WLWLWLW, what would Round 14 bring? Yes, that's right - A loss, followed by the inevitable win in Round 15, what will Round 16 bring?
East Side Hawks
The Hawks went within 6 points of a Grand Final appearance last season and losses in the first two rounds had some feeling that was their best chance yet in recent seasons. Round 3 gave their fans some hope as they romped to a 52 point win against the team they play this week, the Bears, but it was back to losing the week after as they went down by 16 points to the ladder leading team.
Round 5 saw a return to the winners list with a 13 point win, which was short lived with losses in Rounds 6 and 7, before a 22 point win in Round 8 ended the rot.
That win was backed up with a strong 37 point win in Round 9 and a 23 point victory in Round 10. The three win streak came to an end with losses in Rounds 11 and 12 with only a solid percentage keeping them inside the Top 8. They stayed in the 8 with a win in Round 13 and despite a Round 14 loss remained in 8th spot where not even another loss in Round 15 could dislodge them. Their finals destiny is in their own hands in Round 16.

- Clinch a finals spot with a WIN + a WIN to the Furies provided the Furies margin of victory is no more than 82 points greater than the Hawks margin of victory.
While the Wonders are equal on points with the Hawks, the difference in margins between a Hawks win and Wonders win is almost impossible for the Wonders to overcome.
- Clinch a finals spot with a DRAW + a LOSS/DRAW to both the Furies and Wonders.
- Clinch a finals spot with a LOSS + a LOSS to both the Furies and Wonders, provided the Hawks losing margin is not 79+ points greater than the Furies losing margin.
