for those of you in vic

how many of you are listening to SEN

for me i reckon it's great.........the people there are great, really inciteful and thought provoking, as well as providing great discussions

All in all, great listening

I'm with you turtlemanistic, i reckon it's fantastic !

They have a good mix of personalities, and probably Morning Glory, and The Run Home are my two favourite shows.

I can't believe it has taken so long to get an all sports station !

A bloke described SEN to me the other day as similar to a coke habit. Its cheap, nasty, probably no good for your health but ultimately addictive. Theres probably a little truth there but as a sports nut( and bored with JJJ and 774 and unable to stomach 3aw ) I find myself a virtual full time daytime listener. If anyone cares here are my thoughts on the programmes.

Morning Glory...a little ham fisted at times but fairly informative and Garry Lyon is a good anchor. Tim Watson's knowledge of footy is A1 but he falls down on other sports. I realise there is a low brow element in the shows audience to be catered for but Billy Brownless' rise in the media still bewilders me.

Hungry for Sport...the pick of SEN for informed, relevant sports discussion. KB has a wide knowledge and understanding of many sports and to listen to him interview a footy legend such as Charlie Sutton is a joy. Unlike many others he seems to come prepared and this translates into a professional, enjoyable listen.

Francis Leach show...Francis clearly loves his job and it radiates across the airwaves nicely. His charm I think is that he is a sports nut like many of us and never attempts to be anything more. Like KB Francis has top notch recall and a genuine love of most things sporting. He also varies the show to include several of the innovations he brought on that terrific programme "When Saturday comes". His quiz is essential listening.

The Run Home...thank christ Anthony Hudson is on this show or it would be in danger of dissapearing up its own backside. Dermie has good Footy knowledge but as always talks himself in circles by trying to use big words in his sentences, usually incorrectly and out of place. You sort of get what he means but wish he would take the short route home. Matt Hardy is there I guess to provide some comic relief? Who knows but his sporting knowledge outside of StKilda FC is pretty limited. Huddo is a real pro and keeps the thing on track. Its ok and gives good up to date info but probably still needs some polishing.

Mark Doran is what he is, bland, inoffensive, and a bloke you probably need to push through what I would imagine is SEN's graveyard shift. Dont go out of your way here.

Some other weekly specialist shows are terrific, some not so. The Motor Sport show with the excellent Neil Crompton and Gazeys basketball show belong to the former, the Racing and Soccer shows need improving. Overall most significant Sports are well covered and fans are catered for

As a new station I give SEN a real chance of being succesful. Teething problems are to be expected and I feel they can mostly be ironed out. It can be a bit blokey, a lot falls flat but its well worth a listen.

]Morning Glory crew will not get any credibility as long as Brownless is part of the team. His contribution to the entertainment SMUT more SMUT and SMUT. Can't understand why Gary and Tim allow such behavior. It only lowers their profile as knowledgeable esteemed commentators of the game. Brings the level of entertainment to the level of the "Cary on films of the 60's. Billy is suck in a time warp and hasn't a clue how to get out of it. Time for a replacement on the Morning Glory team.

Agree. Probably the pick of the talent at SEN.

Dermie has lived long enough on his reputation as a footballer. Another one that has been stuck in a time warp. Time for replacement. I have not listened to this show since they had David Rhis Jones as guest. This was a perfect sample of a man stuck in his youth and clinging desperately to relive it. In light of recent happenings re club culture and sensitivity about player behavior to dredge up with David the good old days of night clubbing and scoring (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) was pathetic coming from a man of his age. As a an interviewer there isn't any one worst. Oops, sorry forgot about poor old Billy.

I suspect it will take them about twelve months to iron out their deficiencies. But a good start will be to have a look at their personnel.
They've lost me in the afternoons and very close to loosing me in the early morning.
I am fortunate I have a job that I can have the radio on while performing my task. It is good to listen to a sports station as I love my sports but there is a limit to my tolerance as well. I enjoy being entertained and informed at the same time. As a listener I like to be treated with respect.

Broader topics and hosts please!!

Agree, there is way way too much AFL on SEN. It needs to head a little more (but not all the way) in the direction of Toyota World Sports on SBS. I would guess/hope that this will come with time, and the AFL off season.

It's based in Melbourne so there can never be too much AFL. It's only just started and so has the footy. Give it some time to make adjustments.

Francis Leach's show from 12-4pm is fantastic ... the guy has such a broad knowledge of sports and can talk about anything.

A lot more variety than some of the other shows have to offer, still enjoy the station though and is tuned into my car.
